The scenery, however, is handsome, and Miss Pays is indeed the sort of beauty who might have inspired Fitzgerald. But on the subject of credible motivation, Oxford Blues is likely to have left him depressed.

Director-writer Robert Boris fails to establish a consistent tone to make his fairytale story believable.

This is a sort of remake of A Yank At Oxford (1938) without any of that film's charm or humor. Lowe passes off arrogance as a cute personality quirk, and the whole movie plays like just another teen-oriented exploitation effort, replete with sex and booze.
