Here he got a full fledged role and he did the best of it
The film also has Naseeruddin Shah who was known as a Art film actor mostly and Padmini Kolhapure
The film is a simple story well told
The first half has plenty of amusing moments and the ones between Anil and Chotu and also Anil and Padmini are brilliant the turn of events are well handled and the film moves to the climax minus any glitch The last scene is one of the best scene
In 1999 Sanjay Leela Bhansali made HUM DIL DE CHUKE SANAM which had the same story but there it was made on a larger scale with large mansions.etc But WOH SAATH DIN is much better HDDCS especially in first half lacked the conviction of this film and the love angle between Salman- Aish wasn't as nice as Anil-Padmini while even the climatic emotional scene between Salman and Aish was too melodramatic while here the last scene is not melodramatic and stands out
Direction by Bapu is brilliant Music is good
Amongst actors Anil proves he was here to stay, The actor is so natural and honest in his act that you fall in love with him Padmini is good too in her part Naseer excels in his mature role The rest are good too
Really, a well made love story, worth watching once.
Ratings-8/10
Anil Kapoor's maiden success which most presume to be his debut but it's not. Anil's first Hindi film as a hero was Rachna (1983) which had Beena as his heroine. That film came and went so fast that no one took notice. A couple of months later came Woh 7 Din which was brother Boney's first production as well.
Boney and Anil went to Chennai to procure the rights of the Tamil original but when they ran out of funds, veteran actor Sanjeev Kumar and Shabana Azmi helped them. Bapu was onboarded as the director and the reluctant Padmini Kolhapure and Naseeruddin Shah were signed after much insistence by the Kapoor brothers. The movie was filmed in record time and released to an encouraging response. Anil Kapoor got his first big hit.
Padmini Kolhapure was already an established star and she was major reason for the film clicking with the audience. Her performance was not only first rate but she hasnt look more charming and beautiful ..
The plot revolved around a poor musician (Anil) who falls in love with his landord's daughter (Padmini) but she is hurriedly married off to a wealthy widower (Naseer) who gets to know about the romance from her and then tries to re-unite the two lovers.
Woh 7 Din was high on emotions with some melodious score (Laxmikant Pyarelal) thrown in. "Pyaar kiya nahi jaata ho jaata hai" was on everyone's lips that year. The film was a perfect recipe to tug the audience's hearts and later inspired Sanjay Leela Bhansali to make a glossy and bloated version of the same story called Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999). Even that movie turned out to be a box office hit!!

- WissenswertesProducer Surinder Kapoor who was not a successful Film producer took the risk of launching his son Anil Kapoor as a hero with this film, Anil Kapoor was declined by many producers and directors saying he cant be an actor because of his very slim personality which made him look too young to be a hero.
