Bored with her life the way it is, Elizabeth Carlson (Nastassja Kinski),a naïve, Wisconsin farmgirl, quits school and moves to New York to find herself. Almost immediately, she is noticed by fashion photographer Greg Miller (Ian McShane) and invited to sit for a photos. Elizabeth rapidly becomes a top model, her face gracing the covers of such fashion magazines as Glamour and Marie Claire. At an exhibit of her photographs, she meets the mysterious Daniel Jelline (Rudolf Nureyev), who shows her photos of terrorists of which he is in pursuit. He asks for Elizabeth's help, and she follows him to Paris.
Exposed is based on a screenplay written by American screenwriter and film director James Toback, who also directed the movie.
