"Rehearsal for Murder" was re-written (as "Killing Jessica"), for the London West End Stage in 1986, by Richard Levinson & William Link. It Premiered on 19th November, attended by HRH The Queen Mother and HRH The Princess Margaret (Mother and Sister of HM The Queen.
The Play starred Patrick McNee and was directed by Brian Forbes.
William Russ and William Daniels later co-starred on the long-running series Das leben und ich (1993). Their characters, Alan Matthews and George Feeny, respectively, were next-door neighbors.
In the flashback scene where William Russ is with Lynn Redgrave, Russ is wearing a brown leather bomber jacket with the number 13 over his left breast. When he portrays Roger Lococco a few years later in Kampf gegen die Mafia (1987), he will wear that same jacket. The jacket was considered Lococco's "trademark".
For some reason, the film became regarded as a public domain title in the U.S. years after its release. Floods of VHS and DVD releases have been floating around the market, usually sourced from either the USA Home Video VHS, the original CBS broadcast, or a lower quality source.
