Der Mann mit der Stahlkralle

Ändern
  • Major Charles Rane: I found them.
  • Johnny: Who?
  • Major Charles Rane: The men who killed my son.
  • Johnny: I'll just get my gear.
  • Major Charles Rane: They're in a whorehouse over in Juarez right now. There's the four that came into my home, and there's eight or ten others.
  • Johnny: Let's go clean 'em up.
  • Linda Forchet: Why do I always get stuck with crazy men?
  • Major Charles Rane: 'Cause that's the only kind that's left.
  • Candy: What the fuck are you doing?
  • Johnny: I'm gonna kill a bunch of people.
  • Sister: Well, even white people don't make things any good anymore. I bought a US made TV because I wanted to buy American. And it broke down in three weeks. When the repair man came to fix it he said all the parts were made in Japan anyway. So next time I'm gonna buy one straight from Japan.
  • Major Charles Rane: You learn to love the rope. That's how you beat 'em. That's how you beat people who torture you. You learn to love 'em. Then they don't know you're beatin' 'em.
  • [first lines]
  • Johnny: Major, I sure do hate to face all them people.
  • Major Charles Rane: Then put your glasses on, John.
  • Automatic Slim: Now don't... give me any of that officer hard shit. 'Cause I was right there in 'Nam with the rest of you, 'cept I was laying face-down in the mud while you cats was flying over.
  • Major Charles Rane: [pulling hook from Lopez' hand and leaving] You could lose a hand like that.
  • Linda Forchet: Do you know a guy named Billy Sanchez?
  • Bartender # 2: Why are you lookin' for him? He ain't no good for nothing.
  • Linda Forchet: I don't want him for nothin', I just want to talk to him.
  • Bartender # 2: He ain't even good for that.
  • Major Charles Rane: Good to be back. We knew all along that everyone back home from the President on down was behind us 100%. It was God and faith in our families that kept us going. Speaking for myself, I'd like to say that the whole experience has made a better man, a better officer and a better American out of me. Thank you very much.
  • Major Charles Rane: You've changed your hair.
  • Janet: Yeah. About 100 times in the last 3 weeks.
  • Major Charles Rane: And you're not wearing a brassiere.
  • Janet: Nobody wears them any more. Didn't they tell you that?
  • Major Charles Rane: No. They told us about mini-skirts but I never thought we'd get to see one.
  • Janet: Oh, I have one, do you want me to try it on?
  • Major Charles Rane: You don't have to do that.
  • Texan: Hello, Major. Saw you on TV. You looked good. You really did, you looked good. We also saw 'em give you a whole shitload full of silver dollars. And me an' the boys, we were in the neighborhood and we thought maybe you should give us some of them silver dollars.
  • Janet: I tell ya... the men around here don't respect anything. If I told you all the guys that called me up... A lot of your friends from the base - I didn't even look at 'em.
  • Major Charles Rane: I don't think I'm up for any more of this. Why don't you go to bed? We'll work this all out.
  • Janet: What are you gonna do?
  • Major Charles Rane: I'm just gonna sit here.
  • Linda Forchet: Bebe, the man is thirsty.
  • Bebe: Well, you sure shouldn't be.
  • Linda Forchet: You're the strong silent type, aren't you?
  • Major Charles Rane: Nah, I'm just a little rusty on my smalltalk.
  • Major Charles Rane: Listen, Cliff, I hope you don't mind me saying this to you, but I'd really appreciate it if you didn't call my kid a runt.
  • Texan: Now you are gonna tell us where that money is sooner or later. I would suggest sooner, 'cause later may be too late.
  • Linda Forchet: Man, I have had it with lying men, Charlie. The ones who say one thing and do another. The ones that always let you down. Are you gonna let me down?
  • Major Charles Rane: Depends on what you're lookin' for.
  • Linda Forchet: I hope you're not just stringing me along, Charlie Rane. I hope that's not all you're doin'.
  • Major Charles Rane: I don't have to do that, do I?
  • Linda Forchet: Maybe you do. How old do you think I am?
  • Major Charles Rane: 25.
  • Linda Forchet: [smiles] Almost thirty. Been around the course a couple times now.
  • Major Charles Rane: Well you sure don't look it.
  • Linda Forchet: Well I do in the morning. And after I've been out partying all night. I do when I'm sitting alone brooding about some worthless man. I've had a few of 'em, you know?
  • Major Charles Rane: What are you getting at?
  • Linda Forchet: Only that you can trust me. And I wanna know I can trust you. I wanna help.
  • Major Charles Rane: Let's get outta here.
  • Linda Forchet: Charlie, you are the quietest man I've ever known.
  • Major Charles Rane: That's cause I can't think of anything to say. It's like my eyes are open and I'm looking at you but I'm dead. They've pulled out whatever it was inside of me. It never hurt at all after that and it never will.
  • Major Charles Rane: You tellin' me you've never heard of Melio, T-bird, or Automatic Slim?
  • Candy: 30 minutes - 30 dollars.
  • Candy: Goddamn, I wanted to rent you, not buy you.
  • Candy: If you're looking for a cheap thrill, why don't you go to the dog races.
  • Cliff: [to Mark, Rane's son] Hey, runt! Not over there. C'mon. Get in back with your daddy. C'mon, runt. Let's move it! C'mon!
  • Mark Rane: Do you remember what I looked like as a baby?
  • Major Charles Rane: Sure I do, every last detail.
  • Major Charles Rane: I sure didn't want it to work out like this.
  • Janet: I didn't either.
  • Linda Forchet: I work here at night.
  • Major Charles Rane: Then what are you doing here now?
  • Major Charles Rane: I'd like to thank you too for wearing my bracelet all that time. I really appreciate that.
  • Linda Forchet: It's the very least I could do. I'd like to do more.
  • Automatic Slim: You dumb asshole, how does it feel to have gone through all this for nothing?
  • Linda Forchet: You got yourself a groupie, major.
  • Major Charles Rane: What's a groupie? That word's a little after my time.
  • Linda Forchet: Well, a groupie is a girl who falls in love with a rock star or a movie star, somebody she doesn't know. Worships him... knows she's never gonna meet him but, uh, if she ever does she'll do anything for him. Anything... she can.
  • Lopez: Fat Ed likes beautiful gringo girls. I like beautiful gringo girls. Every body likes beautiful gringo girls!
  • Linda Forchet: You're lookin' for those guys, aren't you? Aren't you? You know who they are, don't you? Don't you?
  • Major Charles Rane: Some of them.
  • Linda Forchet: Well why don't you just tell the police?
  • Major Charles Rane: Because I want to find all of 'em.
  • Linda Forchet: You know you don't have to do any of this. You don't have to go after these guys. We could just jump in the car and go a thousand miles from here and nobody'd know any different. Bury the guns in the desert.
  • Major Charles Rane: [to Texan] It's your time, boy!
  • Linda Forchet: [Linda drops her tray of drinks to go with Charlie] Wednesday was always a slow night.
  • Linda Forchet: I wish we had something more exciting to shoot at.
  • Automatic Slim: [Last stand] Get your ass down here, flyboy!
  • Janet: Charlie... I was so nervous that... uh... Cliff came by to drive us up. You remember Cliff?
  • Major Charles Rane: [to his son] You don't remember me, do you?
  • Major Charles Rane: I had everything worked out but nothing's gone the way I planned.
  • Mark Rane: Why's he staying out in the wood shed?
  • Janet: Just 'cause it's small and quiet out there.
  • Cliff: I wanna get my hands on those murdering bastards.
  • Major Charles Rane: That'll pass Cliff, everything passes.
  • Linda Forchet: I'm gonna need a vacation when this vacation's over. Feel like I've been gone two years instead of two days.
  • Linda Forchet: My dad was an Army Major, still is.
  • Major Charles Rane: He teach you how to shoot?
  • Linda Forchet: And ride. He wanted a son, but he got three daughters... well, two daughters, and a tomboy. I'm the black sheep.
  • Linda Forchet: I get off at 2, so why don't you hang around till then?
  • Major Charles Rane: I need to go now.
  • Linda Forchet: What do you expect me to do, just drop everything?
  • [Rane walks away, Linda drops a tray full of drinks on the floor]
  • Automatic Slim: [Rane sticks his metal hook in Slim's crotch] Get me away from him!
  • Johnny: [leaving with Rane for the final showdown] Bye, Daddy.
  • Cliff: I mean... uh, I've been in some scrapes, I know what I can do. But... uh, well, anyone who wasn't over there has to ask himself, if he could've taken it. You know, gettin' tortured and all.
  • Brother-in-law: That there is the last American factory-made convertible.
  • Sister: No more convertibles?
  • Brother-in-law: No ma'am. Those things cost a fortune too.
  • Sister: The Japanese'll start making 'em. That's what happens. We'll be buying our Cadillac convertibles from Japan.
