In order to have a third-act gigantic complex of a villains lair a la James Bond 007 jagt Dr. No (1962), the production utilized a rented-out power station thereby not having to build a set for one. The location used for the Philippino Fortress was the now demolished coal-powered Bunnerong Power Station in Matraville, New South Wales, Australia which is south-east of Sydney. The power station closed in 1973 and demolition commenced in 1978 and was completed in 1994. Filming for this movie took place in 1976 which was within the window of the complex closing and its demolition starting.
