Die phantastische Reise

Ändern
  • Dr. Duval: The medieval philosophers were right. Man is the center of the universe. We stand in the middle of infinity between outer and inner space, and there's no limit to either.
  • [as the submarine enters the brain]
  • Dr. Duval: Yet all the suns that light the corridors of the universe shine dim before the blazing of a single thought...
  • Grant: ...proclaiming in incandescent glory the myriad mind of Man.
  • Dr. Michaels: Very poetic, gentlemen. Let me know when we pass the soul.
  • Dr. Duval: The soul? The finite mind cannot comprehend infinity, and the soul, which comes from God, is infinite.
  • Dr. Michaels: Yes, but our time isn't.
  • General Carter: [after the briefing before the mission] Any further questions? Anybody?
  • Grant: Just one, General.
  • General Carter: Yes, what's that?
  • Grant: Where do I get a cab back to town?
  • Grant: [as the team enters a door marked "Sterilization Room"] How much can a man give to his country?
  • Capt. Bill Owens: All right, Mr. Grant, you can tell them the Proteus is ready.
  • Grant: The Proteus? What's that?
  • Capt. Bill Owens: It's the name of this vessel; sounds better than calling it the U91035.
  • [Carter reaches out to kill an ant crawling on the table and changes his mind]
  • Col. Donald Reid: You'll wind up a Hindu. They respect all forms of life, however small.
  • Grant: Wait a minute! They can't shrink me.
  • General Carter: Our miniaturizer can shrink anything.
  • Grant: But I don't want to be miniaturized!
  • General Carter: It's just for an hour.
  • Grant: Not even for a minute!
  • Grant: What happened?
  • Capt. Bill Owens: Dr. Michaels... went berserk.
  • Grant: Berserk nothing!
  • Dr. Michaels: Grant, help! Get me out!
  • Grant: [hands SCUBA gear to Owens] Get this on, quick. If a window blows, we'll lose this air lock.
  • Dr. Michaels: Grant, help. I'm trapped. Help me!
  • [Grant struggles to free Michaels as he grows increasingly agitated]
  • Dr. Michaels: Can't get my... can't get my hands out. Get me out of here. My... my hands are trapped. Can't move... can't move my hands. I can't move my ha... move my hands. Can't move my hands! Get my out! Get me out of here!
  • [as white corpuscles begins to envelop the submarine, Grant realizes its hopeless and turns to go, leaving Michaels trapped]
  • Dr. Michaels: Get me out! Get me out!
  • [screams as he's enveloped by the corpuscles]
  • Grant: I don't mean to be inquisitive, but this 'CMDF', for all I know it could stand for the consolidated mobilization of delinquent females.
  • General Carter: Combined miniature deterrent forces.
  • Cora: I think it's very exciting. We're going to see things no one has ever seen before. Not just something under a microscope. Think about it.
  • Grant: That's the trouble; I am. Being shrunk!
  • Col. Donald Reid: A woman has no place on a mission of this size!
  • Wireless Operator: A test message from the Proteus, sir. Miss Peterson has smiled.
  • Col. Donald Reid: Well, that's an auspicious sign.
  • Grant: [to Miss Peterson] I bet you were very handy around the house. Do you cook?
  • Grant: For a nice young lady you play with the damnedest toys, Miss Peterson.
  • Cora: That'll teach you where to keep your hand.
  • Grant: How will you know where this sub is at any particular moment?
  • Col. Donald Reid: Dr. Michaels is a circulatory specialist and will act as your navigator. He'll know just where you are and you can communicate directly with us by wireless.
  • Capt. Bill Owens: This craft is nuclear powered, all except for your wireless.
  • Grant: All in all, quite a canoe.
  • Capt. Bill Owens: Designed for e. piscatorial research - spawning habits of deep sea fish.
  • Grant: That reminds me, I better spawn a radio message.
  • Cora: Listen, the heart.
  • Dr. Michaels: Yes, it's slowed down a great deal.
  • Grant: It sounds like heavy artillery.
  • Dr. Michaels: It throws down quite a barrage. Over 40 million beats in a year.
  • Dr. Duval: And every beat separates a man from eternity.
  • Dr. Michaels: I wouldn't call it a miracle. It's just an interchange of gases.
  • Col. Donald Reid: Imagine. They're in the human mind.
  • Opening Subtitle: This film will take you where no one has ever been before; no eye witness has actually seen what you are about to see. But in this world of ours where going to the moon will soon be upon us and where the most incredible things are happening all around us, somebody, perhaps tomorrow, the fantastic events you are about to see can and will take place.
  • Cora: Dr. Duval, what could those be?
  • Grant: [referring to Cora--Raquel Welch] Is the technician okay? In addition to the looks department?
