    While an engineering company closes a road to do hillside dynamite blasting, bus # 102 to Bakersfield crashes through the " road closed " barricade just as the dynamite charge is set off which sends the bus off the road and down the hillside. The ensuing rock slide buries the bus and Wes and Skip must devise a plan to save the passengers.

    Tom Hickey is a former member of RESCUE 5 who is now wheelchair bound. He is also a former partner of Wes Cameron. Tom sends his son Jimmy to summer camp where the boy falls about 50'off Devils Bluff. The camp leader goes to the Maywood Canyon Ranger Station to request assistance and to call Tom Hickey to tell him his son has been injured. Tom calls Wes to ask him to go to Jimmys aid and Wes can't refuse because Wes is Jimmys godfather. When Wes & Skip arrive they devise a plan to work with the on duty members of RESCUE 5 to save Jimmy.

    While searching sewer tunnels looking for a lost child, Wes & Skip encounter 3 thugs who are using the sewer tunnels as a hideout only to find out that one of the thugs is Skips nephew Pete. When Pete is ordered to throw a bomb at Wes and Skip, Pete just can't do it & throws the bomb in the other direction. After Wes and Skip subdue the other 2 thugs, Pete joins in the search for the lost girl.

While hiding in the building,he falls into a shaft that is part of the polar bear exhibit.As Skip tends to the boyfriend who is shot, Wes repels into the polar bear exhibit to subdue the estranged husband.

    While off duty, Wes and Skip wait alongside an airport runway for Wes' friend Riley Jackson who is arriving in a plane he is piloting. When Riley is making his final approach to the airport, he successfully avoids a mid air collision with another plane but then crashes his plane in a valley outside of the airport. Wes and Skip see all this and take some airport extinguishers and drive their car to the crash site & rescue Riley and his wife from the plane.

Wes and Skip must devise a plan to free the man without causing the stacked trolley cars to collapse.

Afraid that they might be caught, the women decide to hide out and sleep in on of the abandoned autos. Without knowing it, the women have fallen asleep in an auto that is scheduled to be crushed and awaken to find the crane has hoisted the car high above the car crusher. After screaming to alert the crane operator there is a problem with the cranes cables & the car can't be lowered. Wes and Skip must devise a plan to get these women down safely before the car falls.

    During a school initiation challenge, a boy must climb to the top of a water tower, enter it through a scuttle hatch door and retrieve his keys that his peers have dropped into the water inside the tank. After the boy that is monitoring the initiation locks the scuttle hatch door from the outside, he falls a short distance and is knocked out. A passing motorist sees this and calls RESCUE 8. Wes & Skip rescue the monitor and when he awakens they find out about the initiation pledge that is still locked inside the water tank. With the water level in the tank slowly rising, Wes & Skip must devise a plan to rescue this young man.

As Wes saves the fire warden and his family from the fire, Skip and 2 arriving police officers chase the pyromaniac into the woods where the police shoot the pyromaniac.
