When Stan goes out walking the morning after his nightmare, he passes by a place with a sign that says "New Orleans' Most Famous Coffee Drinking Place." That would be the Morning Call Coffee Stand that was on Decatur Street in the French Quarter. Opened in 1870, it moved to Metairie in 1974.
Frank Paul Sylos, , who did the art direction, was also the art director on Angst in der Nacht (1946), based on the original story, "Nightmare," by Cornell Woolrich.

The Hotel New Orleans was at 1300 Canal Street. The building still exists as the Hotel Vinache (as of 2024). The adjacent businesses and night clubs, including the Brass Rail Club, have been replaced with a parking garage.
