The scene where the three main characters print the banknotes is made through American-styled slapsticks, as proposed by Totò right before filming. Totò was a fan of Charlie Chaplin.
Actor Guido Martufi plays here the son of Giuseppe Lo Turco, played by Peppino De Filippo. In Totò, Peppino e i fuorilegge (1956) he plays the helper of De Filippo's character.
Actor Giacomo Furia stated that often Totò suddenly required some objects in order to improvise a scene, so the production had to set up a storage full of several things in order to make the prop master find them as quickly as possible.
Antonio Bonocore (Totò) misspells the name of Giuseppe Lo Turco (Peppino De Filippo) several times, calling him: Lo Turzo, Lo Curto, Turchesi, Lo Tripoli, Lo Struzzo, Gianturco, Turchetti and Turco. This gag, a recurring gag in Totò's performances, is considered as marking the beginning of the successful artistic partnership between Totò and Peppino and was then proposed again in other movies starring the duo.
The name Antonio Bonocore was reused in the movie Il tuttofare (2018) for the character played by Guglielmo Poggi, a young practicing lawyer mobbed by his boss (Sergio Castellitto).
