Die blaue Dahlie (1946)

Zitate

Die blaue Dahlie

Ändern
  • Joyce Harwood: Well, don't you even say 'Good night'?
  • Johnny Morrison: It's "good-bye", and it's tough to say good-bye.
  • Joyce Harwood: Why is it? You've never seen me before tonight.
  • Johnny Morrison: Every guy's seen you before somewhere. The trick is to find you.
  • Leo: Just don't get too complicated, Eddie. When a man gets too complicated, he's unhappy. And when he's unhappy, his luck runs out.
  • Johnny Morrison: [after being picked up] You oughta have more sense than to take chances with strangers like this.
  • Joyce Harwood: Funny, but practically all the people I know were strangers when I met them. I'm going to Malibu. Is that any use to you?
  • Johnny Morrison: What's in Malibu?
  • Joyce Harwood: Houses, people. I have some friends there.
  • Helen Morrison: I take all the drinks I like, any time, any place. I go where I want to with anybody I want. I just happen to be that kind of a girl.
  • Johnny Morrison: [discovering his wife in close proximity to Harwood] You've got the wrong lipstick on, Mister.
  • Man Recommending a Motel: [walking into the cheap motel] Clean sheets every day they tell me.
  • Johnny Morrison: How often do they change the fleas?
  • Joyce Harwood: [offering Johnny a lift as it rains heavily] Get in.
  • [Johnny hesitates]
  • Joyce Harwood: Well, you could get wetter if you lie down in the gutter.
  • Johnny Morrison: [to the partygoers] Seems I've lost my manners or would anyone here know the difference?
  • Wolf at Bar: Hey, you, that's my seat!
  • Buzz Wanchek: [with contempt] Go pick yourself an orchid!
  • Corelli: You still want that room?
  • Johnny Morrison: [sarcastically] If you're sure nobody's dead in it?
  • Corelli: [leading him to the room] Right back this way. You live in San Francisco?
  • Johnny Morrison: [laconically] Yeah, when I'm there.
  • Eddie Harwood: Drink?
  • 'Dad' Newell: Don't mind if I do, but easy on the water.
  • 'Dad' Newell: Let me see. I seem to have misplaced your name for the moment.
  • Buzz Wanchek: Where were you keepin' it?
  • Eddie Harwood: Half the cops in L.A. are looking for you.
  • Johnny Morrison: Only half?
  • Joyce Harwood: [sitting with Johnny in a convertible in the hills overlooking Los Angeles] It takes a lot of lights to make a city, doesn't it?
  • Buzz Wanchek: [sitting down at the bar with two friends] Bourbon straight with a bourbon chaser.
  • Johnny Morrison: Same.
  • George Copeland: Two separate glasses. Get it?
  • Bartender at Gus': Why wouldn't I get it?
  • 'Dad' Newell: [examining Helen's body] Been dead for hours.
  • Mr. Hughes: Suicide?
  • 'Dad' Newell: Could be.
  • Mr. Hughes: Better be!
  • 'Dad' Newell: Unh-unh! Too much gun!
  • Johnny Morrison: I'm sorry, but nothing seems funny to me tonight. It all blows up in your face sometimes.
  • Joyce Harwood: What does?
  • Johnny Morrison: Whatever you're doing, whereever you're going.
  • Eddie Harwood: I know I've got lots of faults, but being in love with you isn't one of them, is it?
  • Johnny Morrison: You ought to have more sense that to take chances with strangers like this
  • Joyce Harwood: It's funny, but practically all the people I know were strangers when I met them
  • Buzz Wanchek: I'll buy you a drink some rainy night
  • Helen Morrison: It's raining now
  • Eddie Harwood: Am I under suspicion?
  • Captain Hendrickson: I don't know. How do you feel about it?
  • [last lines]
  • Buzz Wanchek: [as he and George are awkwardly milling around as Johnny and Joyce talk a few steps away] Uh, let's go find someplace where we can get a drink, huh?
  • George Copeland: We gotta wait for Johnny.
  • Buzz Wanchek: We gotta wait for Johnny?... What do you think I am? A camel? Come on!
  • [George and Buzz walk away leaving Johnny alone with Joyce]
  • 'Dad' Newell: Well, I guess I better be goin', Mr. Harwood.
  • Eddie Harwood: Wait a minute - you forgot your cigar.
  • 'Dad' Newell: Oh.
  • Eddie Harwood: I think it's out.
  • Eddie Harwood: [he lights it] Cigars go out awful easy, don't they, Dad?
  • Eddie Harwood: [he blows out his lighter for emphasis] Good night.
