One of over 700 Paramount Productions, filmed between 1929 and 1949, which were sold to MCA/Universal in 1958 for television distribution, and have been owned and controlled by Universal ever since; rarely taken off the shelf because of its age, forgotten players, and pre-code aspects of its story, its earliest documented telecast took place in Minneapolis Saturday 9 January 1960 on WTCN (Channel 11); it first aired in Charlotte NC 9 September 1960 on WSOC (Channel 9), and in Boston 22 December 1960 on WBZ (Channel 4).
