Adapted by William Zeffiro into a tongue-in-cheek stage musical of the same title which premiered in 2008. At one of the final shows, at The 45th Street Theater in New York City, 96-year-old Glen Boles (a star of the original film) made an appearance.
A sound remake of the low-budget, late silent The Road to Ruin (1928). Helen Foster and director Dorothy Davenport (Mrs. Wallace Reid) were involved in both films.
This film premiered just before the 28th birthday of its star, Helen Foster, who plays a high school student.
The roadhouse set, with the distinctive staircase and fireplace, was a standing set that was later used in another notable 1930s exploitation film, Marihuana (1936), where it appeared as the villain's beach house and the venue for a boozy party. It also appeared in several western b-movies released through Republic pictures through 1938.
Although there is an erroneous 1924 copyright notice in the opening credits, it is not attributed to any person or company, and this film has not been found to be registered in the U.S. Copyright Office.
