Peter Pan, der Traumelf

Ändern
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles] When I came into the room tonight, I saw a face at the window...
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles] ... the face of a little boy.
  • Mr. Darling: [in intertitles] Two flights up?
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles] This is not the first time. Last week, I was drowsing here by the fire...
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles] I felt a draught and looked up, and in the center of the room I saw that same little boy.
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles] I screamed. Nana sprang at him. The boy leapt out of the window ~ and escaped...
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles] ... but not before the window had closed and cut his shadow clean off.
  • Michael Nicholas Darling: [in intertitles] Mother, dear, what time was I born?
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles] At twelve o'clock in the nighttime, precious.
  • Michael Nicholas Darling: [in intertitles] Oh, Mummy, I hope I didn't wake you.
  • Peter Pan: [in intertitles] Dear Wendy, have you gone away?
  • Peter Pan: [in intertitles] Will you never be here any more to play? Wendy, mother!
  • Peter Pan: [in intertitles] And I thought it was only flowers that died!
  • Wendy Darling: [in intertitles] Peter, what are your exact feelings for me?
  • Peter Pan: [in intertitles] Those of a devoted son, Wendy.
  • Peter Pan: [in intertitles] You're so puzzling. Tiger Lily's just the same. There's something she wants to be to me, but she says it's not my mother.
  • Wendy Darling: [in intertitles] Though the children stayed away for many moons, the beautiful mother always left the window open for them to fly back. I do like a mother's love, don't you?
  • Michael Nicholas Darling: [in intertitles] I do just.
  • Captain Hook: [in intertitles] Peter Pan, who and what art thou?
  • Peter Pan: [in intertitles] I'm youth, I'm joy! I'm a little bird that has broken out of the egg!
  • Wendy Darling: Oh Peter, you look like Napolean.
  • Peter Pan: I am like him, he was little too.
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles]
  • [to Peter Pan]
  • Mrs. Darling: Who are you?
  • Michael Nicholas Darling: [in intertitles] Can anything harm us, Mummy, dear, after the night lights are lit?
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles] Nothing, precious. They are the eyes a mother leaves behind her to guard her children.
  • Mrs. Darling: [in intertitles] That boy may come back for his shadow.
  • Peter Pan: [in intertitles] It isn't that kind of pain. Wendy, you are wrong about mothers. When I flew back to my mother, the window was barred, and there was another little boy asleep in my bed.
  • Tootles: [in intertitles] The first that does not behave toward Wendy like an American gentleman, I will blood him severly.
  • Peter Pan: [in intertitles] Oh, Wendy's mother, I don't want to grow up! Don't want to be President!
  • [first title card]
  • Title Card: A NOTE / On the Acting of a Fairy Play / The difference between a Fairy Play and a realistic one is that in the former all the characters are really children with a child's outlook on life. This applies to the so-called adults of the story as well as the young people. Pull the beard off the fairy king, and you would find the face of a child.
  • Title Card: This, then, is the spirit of the play. And it is necessary that all of you ~ no matter what age you may have individually attained ~ should be children. PETER PAN will laughingly blow the fairy dust in your eyes and presto! You'll all be back in the nursery, and once more you'll believe in fairies, and the play moves on. / J.M. Barrie
  • Wendy Darling: [in intertitles] Where do you live?
  • Peter Pan: [in intertitles] Second to the right and then straight on till morning.
  • Wendy Darling: [in intertitles] Well, once upon a time there was a gentleman ~
  • Nibs: [in intertitles] I had rather he had been a lady.
  • Wendy Darling: [in intertitles] There was a lady also ~ and what do you think they had?
  • Wendy Darling: [in intertitles] They had three descendants.
  • Nibs: [in intertitles] I wish they had been white rats.
  • Michael Nicholas Darling: I won't be bathed, Nana, I won't.
  • Wendy Darling: John, wake up! There is a boy here who is to teach us to fly.
  • [Peter nods]
  • Wendy Darling: He's going to take us to the Never Land. He says there are mermaids and redskins.
  • John Napoleon Darling: I say, I'll get up at once... hello, I am up!
  • Peter Pan: You just think lovely, wonderful thoughts, and they lift you up in the air.
  • Wendy Darling: Oh dear! Oh, dear! I'm sure I sometimes think that spinsters are to be envied!
  • Captain Hook: Didst ever want to be a pirate, my hearty?
  • Wendy Darling: Never! Be a mother to such as you! I'd almost rather have no children at all!
  • Captain Hook: Never was luck on a pirate ship wi' a woman on board.
  • Captain Hook: Proud and insolent youth, prepare to meet thy fate!
  • Peter Pan: James Hook, though not wholly unheroic figure - farewell!
  • Wendy Darling: We hope our sons will die like American gentlemen.
