Five Finger Death Punch‘s Zoltan Bathory has expanded his jiu-jitsu league, the Professional Grappling Federation (Pgf), with a larger broadcast footprint and the addition of a third team, the Philadelphia Phenoms, with the hopes of turning the martial art into a major league sport.

Bathory and his Pgf co-owners Brandon McCaghren, Heather Grace Gracie, and Keelan Lawyer announced the news via a press release on Thursday (August 28th). The Phenoms become the third team in the Pgf (alongside the New Hope Kings and the Alabama Twisters) following a seven-figure franchise sale to entrepreneur and jiu-jitsu competitor/community advocate Lauren Barone, who makes history as the Pgf’s first female team owner.

Brian Johnson, the social media influencer known as the “Liver King,” was arrested by the Austin, Texas, Police Department for a terrorist threat charge.

According to the records, the charge against Johnson was a class B misdemeanor.

He was arrested after challenging podcaster Joe Rogan to a fight in a video posted on Instagram. He was then taken into custody in Austin, where Rogan lives, after being found at the Four Seasons Hotel downtown around 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

In January 2023, Johnson, who was the subject of a Netflix documentary, was sued for $25 million for lying to his fans about not using steroids and saying that he gained his muscular body by following ancestral rules such as eating raw animal organs.

Social media influencer Liver King has been arrested and charged with making alleged “terroristic threats” against Joe Rogan, Austin’s Kxan reports. The 47-year-old born Brian Johnson shared a series of Instagram videos earlier this week in which he challenged the podcaster to a fight.

“Joe Rogan, I’m calling you out, my name’s Liver King. Man to man, I’m picking a fight with you,” he said. “I have no training in Jiu-jitsu; you’re a black belt, you should dismantle me. But I’m picking a fight with you.

Brian Johnson, aka the Liver King, a social media personality who grew in popularity after eating raw meat in his videos, was arrested a few hours ago. The news was confirmed by Alex Jones on his independent news network, while videos of the arrest appeared on Johnson’s Instagram page. He was arrested at a hotel in Downtown Austin.

As The Last of Us returns for a second season on April 13, showrunner Craig Mazin has responded to renewed discussion around Bella Ramsey’s appearance as Ellie, particularly in relation to the five-year time jump between seasons.

In the video game, Ellie ages from 14 to 19, with noticeable changes in build and stature. Ramsey, who was 19 during production, kept a similar physical profile to their Season 1 appearance. At 5’1″, Ramsey’s height has drawn criticism from some viewers who were expecting a closer resemblance to the game’s older version of the character.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mazin addressed the online reaction. “Ellie in the game looks much older. Richard Norton, the Australian actor and martial arts expert who demonstrated his considerable skills alongside Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan, Sammo Hung and Cynthia Rothrock in action films, has died. He was 75.

Norton’s death in Melbourne was announced this weekend in a Instagram post by his wife, Judy.

The charismatic Norton, proficient in judo, karate, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and many other disciplines, spent two decades as a bodyguard working for the likes of The Rolling Stones, Linda Ronstadt and James Taylor.

He also served as a fight choreographer on the 1993-2001 CBS series Walker Texas Ranger, starring his good friend Norris, and on features including The Condemned (2007), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015), Dark Phoenix (2019) and the Suicide Squad films of 2016 and 2021.
