A wooden doll protecting its home. And exercising , with succes, techniques to be the winner. A charming dark comedy with flavor of old fashion thiller more than horror. And the result is fruit of each detail and real smart story, in ingenious use of cliches of genre. So, just delightful.

I was looking at random horror movies on YouTube. Specifically ventriloquist dummy doll films like "Dead Silence" and "Annabelle" and FINLEY was creepy yet hilarious. Everything from the acting, the music, the dark camera shots were simply astounding. This would make for an interesting and brilliant film franchise. A definite must see even for a short horror film!

HEY EVERBODY ITS ME , (4) and today we review .... something actually good for once ...

so my daughter loves her scary doll movies and wanted to sit here with me on youtube and watch one ...so ... i typed in scary ..and doll .... and we found this ...

and WOW ...simply .... WOW .....

between the fantastic acting, the on screen synergy and story ....at 25 minutes it REALLY hits right on every level .... i usually love a bad flick to make fun of and sadly i cant here ...

the ONLY negative thing i can really find is a couple of moments where the lighting could have been better , but thats a minor thing for this one on the technical side its solid , sound etc all is great ...so yea this thing is a true gem ....

this is one of those times you find a short film that has the perfect balance of horror and comedy and both are done perfectly ....the comedy is actually fun and funny to watch and the "3 months later" part ....icing on the cake ...that moment was just ... yes .......and the horror aspect as well done ...REALLY well ... so BAM this one not only checks the boxes it stabs them in the face .........

being that is was released in 2020 we can only hope that somewhere there is justice in this universe and some how this will get a full lenght out of it and it will remain just like this .......if some producer comes in and changes anything .....ugh .....

9.5/10 EASY.

I saw a clip of it from TikTok and I thought, 'Wow! I have got to check this out!' At first, this feels like any other doll-related horror film, but it stands out from the rest! I don't watch many short films, but I enjoyed this one! You really get to feel for the dummy as you watch him grow with such great character development. Also, I oddly liked the relationship/friendship Finley has with the cat. (I admired the cat for meowing to Finley.) This is truly an astounding horror short! It is just the right amount of horror, darkness, and comedy! It deserves all the accolades it's received! Honestly, I rate it a 100/10!!

This is a breathe of fresh air in world of stale of horror shorts. It subverts just about every horror trope in the book, it funny , clever and knows it's audience very well. The story follows a group of teenagers who find a creepy wooden doll in the attic of their new home . But it is not the story you think it is ! Track it down , you won't regret it I was lucky enough to catch this at the Sohome Horror Film Festival at the weekend.
