Parts of the script are great, and while the acting ranges from very bad over over acting to great, the setting Dakar both in cultural and geographical sense, make this series really intriguing. I loved the photography. Had a great time watching it !

I wish there were many more seasons... The basic idea of the series is great in its own anyway but the kind of cheesy n sloppy parts (or the lack of details in some aspects) makes it all the more pleasureable. I'm bored with super-sophisticated / super-serious series. This is true TV fun. My thanks to the crew!

Not perfect, far from it, but pure entertainment... humor, mystery, love, urbanism, mysticism....and a great way to discover West African culture, far from stereotypes. Great music, good photography. A Dakar never seen before on TV!

The creator of the movie Mass Seck a Senegalese director showed samples of the episodes to canal which in turn changed the names of the actors to make it their movies. Seck filed to sue canal for Plagiarism. All the evidences showed canal STOLE HIS WORK! It the grabbing culture of westerners even with intellectual properties. First it was Phillip Niang the creator according to Canal and then they said Jean Luc Herbulot created the series! The latter confirmed he didn't create the serie. They took his DIVISION X and turned it into Sakho and Mangane. Canal est entrain d'arracher les idees de jeunes africains pour en faire sa propre production. And the group canal pays the people in the justice system in senegal for example, to STEAL PROPERTIES OF AFRICANS.

Clearly this kind of show has a much smaller budget. Once you take that into consideration you can just enjoy this show from Senegal. There's some African mythologie in it. Love it.

This started so promisingly. The first five episodes recounted well-constructed police investigations in an exotic setting. There was added interest in the way superstition (and no more) played a role in the cases. Then it all went pear shaped. Zombies, people with supernatural powers, unbelievable plot twists all with no coherent structure. I watched till the end but was really disappointed.

I'm afraid that another big failure was that some of the actors had clearly spoken their lines in Wolof and then been overdubbed into French and others were saying their lines in the latter language with no dubbing. This is simply not acceptable to a UK audience, even though dubbing is normal in France. The series would have been better completely in Wolof and some French dialogue (as when the French pathologist speaks) with subtitles, either French or English. Oddly, there were small bursts of speech left in Wolof which were not translated or subtitled. This might have been a problem if some of the actors were not fluent in Wolof, of course.

This wasn't a complete waste of time but it could have been far better.

This series is a fresh, new and entertaining script. Some parts are funny, some serious, some magical. It combines perfectly the sights of Dakar in Senegal, the culture of this African nation, the detectivesque plot, the romance of young people. I really liked this series. I have seen so many American or British police/detectives series that this is a fresh approach, from a culture so distant to me that really entertains. Kudos to all the production team!

Exotic, cool. So annoying he got it the way of the story.

I have enjoyed watching this very much despite of what some of the reviews said, I think it is a very good movie for a low budget movie (someone said). The only think that it lacks in my opinion is special effects for the mysticism scenes. Wakanda Forever! I can't wait to see season 2.

This is something alright. If you grew up watching low budget shows (90's and earlier) then you won't have an issue with this directive style. If you watched odd ball shows like supernatural or once upon a time (and far more) then you won't have a problem with the theme. What's gosh awful is the story, dialogue and acting (partly I assume due to the dialogue and directing).

I watched to the end but I kept hoping it would end. Yeah it made me laugh but not due to anything they did but because the show is so laughable. Nothing to be taken serious.

Again if you watched supernatural this is definitely up that alley of goofiness. Oh and do be sure to watch it in its original language. Although the English dub was more accurate than most it's still awful.
