Plot is very well written both sad and funny. Well-acted movie cinematography is brilliant and full of metaphorical images for those of you who enjoy artsy movies. Well worth watching.

I've watched this movie four times now, it is great. Absolutely. I lost my father to Alzheimer's/dementia the acting in the movie is very well done. I do wish the English voice actor (For the main character) was an older voice and better voice acted - It is very important to get this right and I believe it is a miss. Since I watch it in Spanish (only once in English) I can tell you it is the best way to capture the essence and feeling of the movie ..... again truly fantastic.

Simple as well as moving film about an enjoyable family , including comedy , drama , emotion , sensitivity , a nice group of actors who worked extremely well together , along with colorful cinematography by Núria Roldos , stirring musical score by Arnau Ballester and compellingly directed by Maria Ripoll . Heartfelt tale dealing with a retired , good-natured academic professor named Emilio (Oscar Martínez) attempts to find the love of his childhood , Margarita , after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Then Emilio along with his family (his daughter Inma Cuesta as Julia , Nacho López as husband Felipe and granddaughter Mafalda Carbonel , the latter in real life daughter of actor Pablo Carbonel) go to Pamplona , Navarra , to meet Margarita after a large number of years with no relation with her . Along the way , the good-tempered grandfather suffers a temporal memory loss , forgetting elemental happenings and past records.

Set in 2018, City of Valencia , it is a dramedy (drama and comedy) concerning sensitive relationships , good feeling , emotion and moving scenes , including awesome interpretations with outcast roles were pretty well developed . As the touching plot becomes extremely affecting , containing an agreeable message , remembering the true meaning of our existence and the things that actually matter in the troublesome life . Here stands out the charming relationship between the grandfather and his granddaughter, with full of sensibility and attractiveness . Nevertheless , the film results to be sometimes deeply sad , due to the progression of the illness that causes depression, oblivion and forgetfulness . The picture gives an interesting point of sight of the Alzheimer's hopeless sickness , dealing with its unsettling progresiveness and teaching how to deal the people is suffering it .

The motion picture was professionally directed by Maria Ripoll . Maria Ripoll was born in 1964 in Barcelona, Catalonia , Spain and considered to be one of the best Spanish female filmmakers . She is an expert director and assistant director , being especially known for the successful "Your Life in 65" (2006) , ¨Tortilla Soup¨ (2001) , ¨Lluvia En Zapatos¨ or ¨The Man with Rain in His Shoes¨ (1998) and ¨Rastres de Sàndal¨ (2014). Maria has directed known international stars , such as : Penélope Cruz , Lena Headey , Héctor Helizondo , Leonardo Sbaraglia , Tchéky Karyo , Jacqueline Obradors , Elizabeth Peña , Douglas Henshall , Mark Strong , among others . She also made a thriller that failed at box office titled ¨Utopia¨ with Najwa Nimri , José Garcia , Emma Vilarasau and Fele Martínez . And this ¨Vivir dos veces¨ (2019) that has got several nominations and prizes , such as : Nominee ASECAN Award Best Lead Actress Inma Cuesta ,Best Spanish Film . How wonderful to watch a movie that crosses over drama, comedy and raises awareness to a very profound medical and social problem! Way to go Netflix!

Great character development. Strong performances. Well shot. End result enjoyable, but not life changing.
