The Full Monty of Indian Cinema !!

Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal is an experimental film which can be classified as a revenge genre. The subject of the movie is highly controversial but one shouldn't shy away from this. It is absolutely necessary to explore the film and start a discussion or debate about it at every level from family, college, schools, colleges etc to discuss the controversial subject of the movie. It's a revolutionary film in many ways though the action remains questionable for many.

"An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind" Gandhiji's words does make a lot of sense but the actions of these care free rapists in today's scenario, our impotent & corrupt judicial system along with the I don't give a damn police force doesn't give us any hopes, especially for the commoner. Yes, what they showed in Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal is wrong but what other choices do we have as a commoner? to instil some fear into these minds of these rapists. In fact I would really enjoy to see these rapists on the receiving end. I completely support this action & the views of Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal to instil a new beginning. Enough is enough.

Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal is a movie where it's content matters more than the making & acting. Full credit to director Aditya Kripalani for handling such a highly controversial subject beautifully. Yes technically the movie lags in its screenplay, especially in the first half and has some logical loopholes. Cinematography is poor in some places as well as editing. Most of the acting were raw and average sans Salini vatsa who has done a decent job. But as I have mentioned earlier the movie is made for its content and the makers have proved their point beautifully.

Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal is a must watch movie for women of all ages to be watched along with their spouses or boyfriends, to get the message around. It would be a great eye opener for men to understand the humiliation & emotions that women go through during & after such disastrous ordeals. It's the "Full Monty of Indian Cinema" and truly revolutionary in every way. Two Thumbs Up for its content.

A must watch for women.

Extremely gripping story, makes you get out of your comfort zone and think. There is justice done to a dark and radical 'what if' that comes to mind when one has been let down too many times. It is very refreshing to see badass women take charge of the situation, on screen. Really loved how a woman's anger is respectfully acknowledged and portrayed so beautifully. A realistic plot, that will keep you at the edge of your seat till then end.

Intresting plot

"It's a choice" An impactful sentence isn't it?

Certain turns of intresting and an unexpected events flipped within a time frame This plot has expressed thoughts of everyday women facing daily issues in life!

The storyline idea was really good but I feel it could have made more intresting and at some point at a part it felt the storyline was dragged a bit too long! I feel it felt out of place for some parts in the storyline!

But Overall it's a good movie.

Awful execution

It was great concept to work on, when you had money and team to make a movie about burning topic of horrible injustice towards woman happening everyday. It was great concept and opportunity to trigger thoughts on careless people as well as to take credit of making a great movie. But the execution was so poor that you will leave screen without any thought on the subject rather you will feel how horribly it was executed. Actors are not at all convincing that they are actually angry enough to take such an action against injustice, and do not show convincing rebellious attitude at all. Also what they are commuting the crime they doesn't even seem to be scared to be found out in mid way. Keep a man shouting and banging flimsy metal door of a cupboard in a big building for days, what could go wrong. They are so calm as if people will support them in their bigger cause even if found out. The taxi service owner girl is not yet convinced and three carry out an elaborate plan so sure that she will help or not talk to police about. Seems all those who rated/reviewed the movie till now are movie team itself.

Experimental

The director of the movie is brave enough to have chosen this topic which everybody knows is way too debatable and opinion prone. The focal idea of the movie is very well implemented and the lives of all the women in the movie are utterly relatable to every woman. The end of the movie, according to me is not so close to reality. The male lead Vinay Sharma has given an excellent performance as he was successful to send chills down one's spine! The music was better than Tikli and Laxmi Bomb.

Different take on a very serious issue.

Movie is good and a must watch. It's a slap on all those men who think women are only for sex, slave to men, machine to give birth. The story is slow here and there but gets intense eventually. The execution could've been a bit better though.

Although whats shown in the movie is unethical but the things going on with women that we read in newspapers almost everyday is also unethical, so I don't mind.

Go watch it, its worth your time.

Mentally unstable, ideologically obsessed people making a movie...

This is a great movie, a movie every woman and man must see.

This is the best way to learn (from the horses mouth, as they say) what feminism is, and what kind of people feminists are. Deranged women (and some men) who have found a purpose in life: to hate.

To the creators: Your ideology is a wicked ideology, an ideology of evil, of hatred and destruction. Instead of making films you should seek help from a psychiatrist.

To the viewer: Watch this film to find out what the future will be like if these people get more power.

Revolutionary!

This movie is that scare that we call "WHAT IF". The scare that hasn't been felt by far but is so much needed especially in the parts where men are living a deluded patriarchal life. Where women are commoditized, they are called Totta, Pataka, Item, Mall...!! The idea of 'What if' is explored with serious care without deviating from reality. Four women for one Man, well yes because it was the first attempt by any movie maker where a hero wasn't needed to give our 'man' the taste of his own medicine. This movie is a great representation of the power of metal strength over a physical strength and will surely bring a tsunami is mind sets of people. All in all, an extraordinary movie with a revolutionary ending.

INSANE

I'm not sure whether sex education is given to everyone or not, but I strongly want this documentary to be showed to each and every men no matter someone sitting in a business class flight or someone whos sitting at every corner of the streets teasing ladies. If we talk about equality I want men to understand the fear of rape. I want such eve teasers to be left naked on the streets to understand how it feels and yes Aditya kirpalani did a great great job by showing a parallel side of feminism.. Thankyou

I'm rating 9 just cuz I want this director to know that his films are so great that we can't wait one year for one single film.. I want him to know he's doing a great job and I am waiting to see more of his work..

when fear finds a way to fight!

It's almost 2020 and our women are still living in fear .. fear of not being able to reach the destination, fear of dressing up well to the fear of protecting that tiniest part of body which makes her LESS compatible "according to men". This fear is explained so well that I can't stop thinking about the women who live with this every moment. amazing performances by everyone, very well written & executed. Superb direction & background music. Very well captured frames. I hope Men watch this & understand the dept of the matter & spread the message. thank you for making such films and giving out the message to society.

LEAST TOUCHED TOPIC IN OUR COUNTRY

It's a masterpiece for sure. This is the second film of Aditya Kriplani Sir, on NETFLIX, after Tikli and Laxmi Bomb. I like his ways of touching the off-topics. I haven't seen a single director making this type of Cinema except him. I still remember - I was watching Masaan on Netflix then I came through his first film "Tikli and Laxmi Bomb". I downloaded the picture because of the catchy title of the film - But one day I was bored and thought of watching something. I watched "Tikli and Laxmi Bomb". The cinema I saw that day, got me totally amused. The same goes with this film "Totta Pataaka Item Maal" - the title of this film is also catchy - I think Aditya sir's signature will be "TITLE OF HIS FILMS" - Titles are blunt and catchy. This film shows the insecurities women in India go through with the male dominant society culture in our country. I have never seen anybody in our country touching these topics so bluntly and expressively. All the actors did their part best. I have become a fan of Chitrangada Satarupa. I love the way she acts. I have always appreciated good cinema - Masaan, Gangs of Wasseypur, Aligarh, Angrezi Mein Kehte Hain, Tikli and Laxmi Bomb, etc and now comes "Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal" in this list. I have always liked the work of some directors like Anurag Kashyap, Rajkumar Hirani, Imtiaz Ali, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Shoojit Sircar, etc and now comes "Aditya Kriplani" in this list. Thank you for making these two films. Keep making films. You are the future of the Indian Cinema or should I say World Cinema.

Kanta Bai rocks.

"Saw this film right after Sacred Games. And realizes that even Chitrangada from Tikli Bomb is there. Loved the villains performance. Wanted to kill him myself. Disturbing film, but needed."

A different take on feminism!

TPIM is a different perspective of what could happen if men had the constant fear of being molested or raped by women... Interesting to see what 4 strong willed women can do to bring about a change in society, if they wish to.

TPIM doesn't preach or dramatize events too much however sticks to its core which makes it a delight to watch.

Director Aditya Kripalani excels after his directorial debut with Tikli and Laxmi Bomb, kudos to the team for keeping it real!!!

This is a movie that all men should watch to gain a fresh perspective :)

An outstanding film towards chosen equalism in current times of unclear feminism.

Tottaa Pataaka Item Maal... The phrases which every woman in India had been catcalled with in different walks of life. There is a particular reason why this title suits the film. This film is not about a hero who corrects the behaviour of some men towards a woman and neither about a heroine waiting for a hero to rescue her. This film is about woman choosing not to wait for a hero and taking control of the situation. It's not about showing men their real place but about woman taking back an equal place alongside him. Its not about downgrading man's masculinity but making him aware by refining his screwd definition of masculinity in relation to a woman. Its not about man being the bad characters but about woman realising and discovering their choice to unleash their inner might . It's not about the woman in India but about woman in any part of the world. Its not about the fear of rape for a gender but about realising that fear of dominance and control over mind and body is real for both the genders. This film by Aditya Kripalani sir and team is not about just the title and its literal meaning . Its about the meaning and heaviness of the words you encounter after watching the film. #TottaaPataakaItemMaal. Woman take Delhi back. Now streaming on Netflix.

Raw and real

Totta patakaa item maal is beautiful movie, extremely raw and real, The ending of the movie is something which hits you the most because it takes you back to square one and questions the fact that is it really men verses women or it all comes down to human beings, The films small small details and symbolism and made the movie more amazing, and the things like natural lighting and real locations is sone pe suhaga. Must must must watch

Finally a revenge drama that is raw and hard!

"I love revenge dramas, but this one has a complete 180 degree change for the hero at the end. Must watch till the end. Disturbing but worth it. Background score interesting. Found the film slow whenever they weren't with him. Was waiting for them to get back to Mahendra Chauhan'.

Excellent Hindi Film

Most of us are probably used to the kinds of Bollywood movies that have a certain style to them. They may have a lot of singing and dancing and probably drag on for more than two and a half hours. You've probably only seen one or two of them, or maybe none at all, just because watching them can be so tedious.

Those films aren't bad, in my opinion, and I've even enjoyed a few of them quite a bit, but it's just hard for me to get in the mood for them sometimes. They can feel like this big event, and they don't have as much appeal for viewers who may not be from India.

This film, however, was a completely different experience. It tells a relevant and intriguing human story that all of us can relate to in one way or another. It does not feel at all like a typical Bollywood film, because it's not. It's not like anything at all, as a matter of fact, but it has more in common with European art films than anything I've seen come out of India. It is a true work of art. Highly recommend.

Unexpected storyline

The storyline of the movie is quite interesting. I'm not giving out any spoilers. It's the story about 4 women kidnapping a guy and they try to make him realise the fear of rape. The screenplay, direction , acting everything is good in the movie. Recommended.

Revolutionary Movie and brilliant script

It's hard to believe that women in our country still can't get out of their house after 8 where not only parents but girls themselves are scared! TPIM has definitely made the men realise that we have some women who can go out of their way to make these men realise their value! Loved the cinematography and the direction, fab story line! To top it all Aditya Kripalani yet again comes up with a different concept on the table! Good work team TPIM

It's a must watch

I've just watched TPIM. And without a doubt I can say it is the most gripping and intense movie I've ever watched..story line, concept, entire cast...everything is fabulous . And yes, moral of the movie is way too loud (it should be) i.e "Fear is fear,it doesn't discriminate itself on gender basis and when comes, will be experienced in same way by both gender". Keep entertaining and bringing changes in our country by making such movies. All the best Aditya sir.

Whatta a wowww !

We want this kind of a movie wheb people blindly appreciate movies like Kabir Singh and support the misogyny. Keep making such mivies, share such sparkling stories. We need to now have a less gender biased society. We women are tired of fighting the regular corporate politics, handling the home and work, dealing with taxes, political crisis and then the cherry on top is the fear if being a woman, going out alone, working late nignt, traveling alone and what not. Thanks director sir for sharing this wonderfully powerpacked story

Amazing portrayal of women power.

This film portrays the power of women, though women are sensitive but they can still go beyond limits to teach some men a lesson. This is not about feminism. This is not typical. This is extra ordinary. It depicts that it is not enough to take a stand for yourself but to take an action for youself. It shows that women are not only for cooking food, making men happy on bed, cleaning their house and for making babies and it shows that in a very interesting way. One should watch this movie to surprise themselves.
