Film historian and Jess Franco expert Stephen Thrower is back in yet another featurette that has the author discussing the Spanish filmmaker. This time out he takes a look at the underrated gem SINFONIA EROTICA. I must say that this here turned out to be one of my favorite featurettes with Thrower because he does a terrific job at taking us throughout Jess' career and looking at the various films that he made from Marquis de Sade stories. We get to hear about some of the earlier films with Soledad Miranda as well as films like COCKTALE SPECIAL and HOW TO SEDUCE A VIRGIN. There are also some nice stories told about the production of SINFONIA EROTICA including the shooting locations, the use of homosexual characters and there's some nice bits on Susan Hemingway, although it appears no one has been able to track her down since she left cinema.
