Like most short movies... it has to tell a story in a short period of time. The director does this masterfully.

Within a few mins you know what's going on... and you don't need anything more to realize how it will end.

Yes another story about being gay, and in the closet in Israel.

Israel is NOT Tel Aviv (gayest city of earth), and Tel Aviv is not Israel.

And this movie drives that home. This was true 50 years ago, and will probably continue for the next 50.

Our Way Back is one of the best short films I've seen in a long time, a real gem. Shot in the deserts of Israel, it is very atmospheric and the setting adds to the pain of this story about the horrible consequences of a being in a closeted relationship. Both the actors are very convincing and the director does a great job. Hope he goes on to direct lots of full length features as well. Israel produces great gay themed movies. I would say it's become a part of the countries DNA!
