Death Wish vibes, including an actor that clsoely resembles Charles Bronson

The score of 4.6 overall is dead on. I had already decided to give it a 5 before seeing the other scores.

There is a decent amount of killing. Not much of a plot or plot development. Not any real tension in the movie to keep you riveted to the screen. The movie just moseys along from scene to scene with very little development of anything.

Like Death Wish there is a vigilante that kills criminals and low life types. But he has no problem robbing their belongings once he does. And is not worried about collateral damage to those people being abused or threatened as he takes out the bad guys.

A movie like this is only as good as the villain. This is why Avengers hit a home run with Thanos and DC failed miserable with Steppenwolf in Justice League. The main villain in this movie is a joke. Our man is never in any real danger. This makes the ending kind of flat and boring.

I would not recommend this movie unless you have nothing else to watch or do. A walk in the park would be a better time investment.

Oh, and there is some rule in this movie that all female actresses in the movie must bare their chest at least once for no good reason. I kid you not.

From Death Wish to Death Kiss but then in a bad way.

Who's Robert Pronzi? I only have two plausible explanations. Or Charles Bronson went to Hungary and had a secret affair over there that resulted in an unwanted child, or a scientist found the way to clone a human and as a huge fan of Charles Bronson he decided to clone his hero. I can't see another explanation for Charles Bronsons' twin. That said, the director Rene Perez saw the same thing and decided to remake the Charles Bronsons' classics Death Wish. Those movies were the revenge movies you had to watch when I was young. They probably didn't age that well but I can't tell you that as I never watched them again. From Death Wish to Death Kiss, Rene Perez doesn't have a big imagination, nor does have he the necessary talent and budget to make a decent movie as Death Kiss is just an abomination compared to Death Wish. The acting from most of the cast is just awful. Only Eva Hamilton was decent with her acting. But the worst parts of this movie are the action scenes, they are amazingly bad, and unfortunately there are a lot of action scenes, what doesn't help in raising the quality of this movie. I'm not sure what Charles Bronson would think if he could have watched this movie, but I'm sure it wouldn't be possitive.

It's a love letter to retro action films

After reading some of the reviews I'm not sure what people expected from this movie! It's a fun retro-throwback action film with lots of gore, synth music, and sexy ladies. I'm not sure what else you could want from a movie in this genre but in my opinion this movie delivers on what it advertises.

Death Kiss $5.00 DVD bin watch and give to a friend

This movie has a few good points and a few flaws as well. It has a fairly decent story line and even better camera work. Scenes with a hand held camera were far better than big budget shaky cam movies. Dialogue had its ups and downs. The acting for the most part was only B rated and needed a lot of work except for Dan Forthright played by Daniel Baldwin. He did a good job delivering his lines, especially the radio dialogue. Robert Bronzi (Robert Kovacs) who plays the stranger looks a little like Bronson and I hope his acting improves with time and experience. The cleavage and bare breast scenes were done modestly and added a little spice to the movie. I like a little gore in a movie, but the exploding blood splatter in this movie were comically obvious. Fans of the Charles Bronson Death Wish movies might get a kick from this one. For a low budget Inde film it's not too bad, 5 of 10.

This is a god-awful movie.

I don't know what movie some of the other reviewers were watching but the late Mr. Bronson would be convulsing in his grave at this abomination.

Bronson would probably smile

I've never seen this actor before this movie and I will admit that I was drawn to it by its poster. I thought that I was seeing Charles Bronson. but I saw the date 2018 and frowned. I love Charles Bronson especially the 70's and 80's movies so I assumed that this was a documentary. Robert Kovacs resemblance with the late actor is uncanny and pays a great homage to the Bronson legacy of vigilante/dark justice movies. Not only does he look like him he acts like him as well. I enjoyed it and made me remember the Bronson movies.

Death Kiss, a great throwback/hommage to Bronson and Death Wish

Death Kiss stars the Charles Bronson lookalike, Robert Kovacs, a.k.a. Bronzi, and you can see why he's been given the nickname. He not only has the look, but the mannerisms of Bronson, which make the film work. I found myself smiling while watching Kovacs roam the mean streets, with the 80's style score accompanying him. He's out looking for trouble, and he certainly finds plenty of it...thugs, drug dealers and pedophiles, and he doesn't mind taking out the trash. Lots of blood to go round and plenty of action that will please a fan of the 80's stlye Bronson films like Death Wish and The Evil that Men do. There are some minor distractions in the film that I'm not even going to list, because based on budget and how much the director contributed to this film, as far as directing and providing the score, I think those involved did a solid job of bringing back something to life that will certainly please. Bronzi, Baldwin, Tyson and the small part by Stormi Maya were standouts to me. Dive in to this film expecting lots of blood, mayhem and of course...fun.

"We all have a twin"

Wow, is what I have to say; good acting and i'm glad that movie was produced, it reminded of a great talent that's been brought to life. This actor is an amazing replica of the late Charles Bronson.....I'd love to see him in more movies. WOW......hard to believe it's not him

Kiss of Death

Yes I know this is meant as a stab at Death Wish ... there's a reason that our main actor looks like Charles Bronson too. His dubbed voice also might remind people of him. And when I say dubbed, I mean in the english and therefor original version of the film.

And while he has the optics of the late great Bronson ... I highly doubt anyone will compare those two in anything else than looks. It almost saddens me to say that I while I really tried to like the low budget nature of this (and there are things to love or hate depending on your own taste, like the CGI blood, the nudity, the violence in general), there is so much wrong with this that I can't really rate this higher.

Yes I am aware that many "classic" movies did not have much more of a story than this has. And maybe for some this will be more than enough ... even the way too long scenes will not bother some ... but if you are honest to yourself ... even with under 90 minutes running time this has more flat moments than .. well you fill in the blank and make it PC or non PC ...

Death Wish minus the story line

For people who lived around 1970s must remember the movies by Charles Bronson with the title Death Wish 1 to 4. This one is trying to imitate the theme of Death Wish, but minus the story line but with the hero who look very much like the late Charles Bronson...., even the real person's name is Bronzi. Talking about coincidence. But I have to say, that is as far as similarity is concerned. It seems to me that the vigilante theme is now on the rise, with Bruce Willis on Death Wish, Jennifer Garner on Peppermint. Apparently I put my expectation too high on Death Kiss. First of all, the title is very confusing...., Death Kiss ? A random killing would be more appropriate and on top of that there is the less famous Baldwin rambling on the radio about some random subject for at least 20 minutes. There are a lot of shooting...., I don't really understand why all the shooting. And if you look at how the actors handle the guns, I can only assume that they are very very strong. Shooting big guns without any apparent kickback on the hand that hold the gun. Overall, what do you expect from a B grade movie. I don't really understand why people want to invest money on making this kind of garbage. Don't they have something better to do with their money ?

Yes he looks like Charles Bronson (from a distance )

Ok ok he may look a bit like him (from a distance) but the film is Bad i watched 30 mins then turned it off way way to cheap, to even call it a homage or even a re imaging of any Bronson film , they where set in the 70's and 80's tying to recreate them without the budget is shameless , acting was bad production is bad , it may have got better but i couldn't watch anymore ?

This is justice...

I stumbled upon "Death Kiss" and decided to watch it solely for the reason of the movie's cover/poster. I did watch all the old Charles Bronson "Death Wish" movies and enjoyed those - unlike the remake with Bruce Willis.

I like how this movie keeps you in the dark, because you have no idea if this is supposed to be Paul Kerns or not, the character portrayed by Charles Bronson. But the similarities are there in abundance, not only by physical similarity between Charles Bronson and Robert Bronzi.

While the storyline is simplistic in "Death Kiss", it is very true to the storylines in the "Death Wish" movies, as they were also mostly unstructured like this movie, whereas not a whole lot is happening narratively throughout the course of the movie, but it all seems mostly like fragments of action put together for a greater picture.

I was adequately entertained by "Death Kiss" and it was a nice surprise actually. If you enjoyed the old Charles Bronson "Death Wish" movies, then you should definitely take the time to watch "Death Kiss" as well.

The movie has an interesting cast. First and foremost, there is Robert Bronzi who not only has an uncanny resemblance to Charles Bronson, but also has a lot of his mannerisms and gestures nailed down in place. It was much like actually watching Charles Bronson on the screen. Daniel Baldwin was actually also doing a good job in the movie, despite having a minor role only. And it was actually fun to see Richard Tyson on the screen again in a villanous role.

All in all, "Death Kiss" is entertaining for what it is. Just don't expect a major drama here with plot hooks, surprises and twists, because that is not in here. This is action, this is homage, this is a trip down memory lane for the most of us.

i liked this

God, how ive missed that face, charles bronson was the ultratough vigilante on the screen when i grew up, robert kovacs is the spitting image of cb, and his acting are just amazing.it is a dead on target kind of movie with no derailments and mick-mack there are lots of killings and blood,no pardon at all, just, just straightforward and the deed is done done. the film is meant to be thin on the storyline,it is revenge with no remorse that counts. some of the acting are a bit stiff, but that doesnt matter. mr.k seems to be immortal, and i liked the scene where he used a car door as armour against full automatic rounds from an assault weapon. its just like ned kelly, the australian bushmaster in the 19th century. i think this was a brilliant product from mr.perez, who has done the majority of work making this movie, hear hear, please make a follow-up. its also the shortest cast and crew list ive seen for ages. the score are just magnificent. shall i hvave another look ,definately yes

My Review Of "Death Kiss"

Perez's story is a straightforward tribute to classic vigilante b-movies, most notably a tribute to the "Death Wish" franchise, and original gun carrying bad a** Charles Bronson. Take one part vigilante , add equal parts criminal , uber bad guys and disgusting assaults and atrocious acts against women. ..viola! It is classic and timeless. And just as the films before it, "Death Kiss" serves up an action driven bloodbath.

The film is not without flaws, budget restraints and writing down weaken when pushed further than the cast and production can handle. Luckily dialog is, for the most part, short - to the point, and simple through most of the film. The choice of Daniel Baldwin'so character to handle the real hefty dialog as a bridge between audience and plot details is a smart move, and Baldwin shines. That and the fact that Kovacs is nearly devoid of dialog, letting his actions speak brutally sharp for him creates a nice, and entertaining movie experience.

There are also a few flaws in the effects, again, obvious budget concerns put Perez at a limit of what can be achieved. He does a pretty decent job. Aside from the cheap "buzz kill" moments of CGI blood splatter and barral flashes, "Death Kiss" has some cool practical carnage stuff. Done pretty close to realistic the gore and bloodshed work. The overall effect of the movie is a tight, low-budget indie flick fitting somewhere between crime exploitation and grindhouse action film. Definitely worth checking out if you're a crime thriller, vigilante Bronson fan

Bronson tribute act?

Doing the rounds from the Amazon slop bucket. This is obviously an 'in' joke that went over my head. The hero a is man who is the double of Charles Bronson, in looks ,clothing and demeanor. He goes around shooting bad actors at random. The plot, if can call it that, is held together by a radio talk show host (Baldwin) which is such an old device, here it's used in place of a coherent narrative. The current 5.9 score really surprises me, but suckered me in to watching it, well some of it. With a bit of tweaking it would have made a decent spoof movie, a la Scary Movie. If you are a fan of Bronson it's probably best avoided, lest you decide to seek revenge on the creators of this banality.

Awful effects and awful acting

I couldn't make up my mind if it was the Actors fault or the producers fault for the awful screen play. I decided on the producer. The gun fights are ridiculous, the blood squirts outwards instead of through the body. This is no death wish movie and those involved must be squirming at the end results.
