Do people understand that rating a movie 10 out of 10 means perfection? This is a very average movie with very average acting. There were so many 10 ratings that I was expecting much more. If you have nothing better to do, watching this will kill some time.

I actually enjoyed this movie a lot. I laughed out loud a few times on certain scenes. And also rolled my eyes at some- per every movie. The dynamic of siblings and the story I found funny. But it imo, between both sets of siblings was real. It's not easy. Felt a little campy a times, but definitely what older and younger of same sex siblings go through at time. Also having a few year apart in age. We are all dealing with different stuff internally and with different ages thoughts emotions and what we feel best for someone we love and care about trying to hope they "do up to their potential " but again it's not about our wishes for any of us. It's a movie about acceptance, and we still love them anyways. Plus their is sometimes no relationship like a sibling relationship. Again I enjoyed it. And worth the watch. 7/10. Quick watch and I did enjoy it.

I know, I know. Some people may not get past the odd opening scenes or the "b" movie look of this at the beginning, but hang in there and you'll find a good story, some realistic dialogue, actually funny jokes, excellent character building and one of the funniest nude scenes. The parent's 1990s decor was spot on! And did I mention there are plenty of humorous golf scenarios, too. This little low budget film completely won me over and never went over the top, like so many raunch-coms do these days. I was routing for the brothers and the sisters the whole way. Small film definitely worth a watch.

Nothing happens. It's not funny. The 10/10 rating must be from the 8 people in the movie! Only finished it because we paid for it! What the heck?????
Sammy (Michael Vlamis) brings Emma (Chloe Bennet) home from the bar and are having random hookup on the couch. They are interrupted by his brother Andrew (Scott Michael Foster) and her half-sister Olivia (Ally Maki) who are a married couple. They didn't know their connection before hooking up. It's the brothers' parents' house. They have the same upcoming birthday, 5 years apart. The two pairs of siblings have different outlooks.
I know three of these actors. Otherwise, this is not worth the time. It starts off well with a fun opening but it quickly grinds to a halt. These are not compelling characters or much of a rooting interest. They bicker and argue and I don't care. These are not real people. They are just one dimensional figures. It tries to be funny but it's not. I don't get the medics. Are they funny? This is nothing. I haven't seen this filmmaker's previous works and unlikely to see his future works.

She is the top actor here, the plot is little to none, the acting besides her own is inconsistent, waited so long for this wanna be movie.
Chloe deserves better.
Chloe deserves better.

How could you people give this bad reviews? In a world filled with beige romcoms, with the SAME gags over and over it was refreshing to see a movie more dialog driven. It could have been a play. It was amusing, quick witted, and haven't seen it a million times. The actors were GREAT, Sammy character was very believable and never once did I feel he was acting. Chloe Bennett as always is ethereal to watch...can't take your eyes off her. The others were all very good as well, and there was decent chemistry between them all. If you think this was bad, perhaps you should go watch a lifetime movie instead. Unless you're brain dead, you'll find this enjoyable. Ssssssssss.

Boring, meandering. Plot that's non existent. Characters you don't care about. Everything feels forced.
Only Chloe Bennet's Emma seems genuine but that's because of the actresses performance. She's wasted in this yawnfest. Better than this.

The saving grace of this film is that it is only an hour and a quarter long.
It's billed on Amazon as a comedy, but I must have missed the comedic bits.
The premise is Ok, but there are a million other films about sibling rivalries - this brings nothing to the table.
The sad things is that the cast are actually quite good, but the subject matter is boring. The Aussie character, Mark is just awful. I think he was probably supposed to be the comedy part of the film, but I don't think there was anything remotely funny going on.
Save yourself 77 minutes and don't bother watching. You'll thank me later.

I couldn't wait to see Five Years Apart with Michael Vlamis. I expected him to a uninhibited and unapologetic and he did not disappoint, every inch of him that is!! But yet still that caring nature shines through! He paired well with Chloe Bennett and I love his quick comeback lines he always seems to have in everything. So its not a multi-billion dollar mega movie, but it a kinda RomCom make you laughs, feel good type movie that will make you wish you were floating around a pool on a floatie. So yes it has some Vlamism in it too

Great movie with everything from a little comedy, drama, and romance, Chloe Bennet does brilliantly here and her character is my favourite part. Emma and Sammy are paired up well here and have great chemistry. The movie is something I encourage you to watch if you are looking to watch something and you don't know what to watch. It's a great movie and had a great storyline. Obviously it's no block buster but from the budget, the cast especially delivers a good performance.
This film was just the kind of movie I love ending my day with after a long day of work. It's a feel good film with lines that will literally make you laugh out loud! I ended up watching it twice on my 2 day rental and was still catching lines I missed that were making me laugh. Excellent writing and acting all around! I've already been recommending it to friends to rent and watch.
This was a pleasant surprise! Just an enjoyable movie for what it was. Delivered a lot of laughs and just kept you smiling most of the way. Couple nice heart moments too without being too heavy handed. Something light and fun to put on.

5 Years Apart is one of my new favorite movies! Do you want to feel good? Do you want to happy cry? Do you want to laugh out loud? Then this movie is for you. After watching everything on the streaming platforms, this movie couldn't have come at a better time. The writing, directing, and acting are top notch. These are definitely filmmakers to watch.

Michael Vlamis and Scott Michael Foster really shine. Such funny light hearted moments, yet it gets pretty deep with some very relatable struggles that all families go through. Michael's character goes through something that so many young adults can identify with. Definitely one I will rewatch again and again.
If Y'all are looking for the a damn good movie to watch I would say look no further because. A, It stars the one and only @michaelvlamis along with a great cast B, it has a perfect blend of comedy and drama C, for y'all who love a man with accent one of the characters has an Australian one.

This movie is completely carried by its main cast. Their acting alone moves the story forward and brings a sense of honesty and realism to each scene and sibling rivalry while throwing in nudges of fun banter. The chemistry between everyone makes the simple story so enjoyable to watch.

Rare movie that succeeds on almost every level, where each character, scene, costume, and joke firing on all cylinders to make a film worth repeated viewings.

Michael Vlamis puts on a powerhouse debut feature performance. Hitting dramatic, comedy & lifestyle notes perfectly throughout the picture. A balanced and accurate portrayal of real life in America.
