Agnyaathavaasi (2018):
Before starting my review, I am gonna mention you that I am not going to say the director's name anywhere in the review out of immense respect I have for him.I will use the word "You Know Who" (Don't get confused with Voldemort). As a huge fan of "You Know Who",I have huge expectations on Agnyaathavaasi.Even when the trailer disappointed,it is You Know Who's written dialogue which really left the mark and raised the expectations on the film.So how is it? and Why am I not mentioning director's name?
Plot:
The film opens with a murder of Vindha (played by Boman Irani), a billionaire who's the head of AB group of companies. We are told that two others partners in the company, Sharma (Murali Sharma) and Varma (Rao Ramesh) are primary suspects for this crime. To deal with the impending crisis, Indrani (Kushbu) seeks the help of Balasubramanyam (Pawan Kalyan), who must get to the bottom of the conspiracy brewing within the company. The rest of the story is about how Balasubramanyam, aka AB, connects the dots and saves the day to keep Vindha's legacy alive.
My Review:
A dialogue in the initial portions loosely translates to 'when we don't have a new idea, we can repeat an old one'; that's writer-director "You Know Who" making his intention clear. But its shocking that "One of the most talented writers of Tollywood" ironically made a satire of himself. Its being evident that he has lost his previous magic and delivering only half of his talent. But those films at least had coherent narratives, a few well-etched characters and sharp dialogues.Writing is You Know Who's strength, and his legions of fans don't call him 'guruvu garu' for nothing. But even his half-baked works itself are getting decent successes,so as usually everyone will have But in Agnyaathavaasi (Ironically even the title apted for him),he went to exile as there is not even a single trace to prove that it is "You Know Who's"' film.
It would be hard to believe that a master writer like "You Know Who" could come up with such weak writing. Without doubt, he has failed totally in writing. Whatever be the story, "You Know Who" always writes best entertaining scenes and touching sentimental dialogues. The whole entertainment angle in this film, which involves a romantic track and comedy in the workspace is a total failure. There is nothing going on in either of them. They add to the length and provide endless boredom. In the entire movie, we can hardly find any scene which is worth mentioning. The whole movie is trash compared to the previous films in the combination or those of the director. Entire concentration is put on visuals rather than working on the right content. The hero and heroine track is the worst. Two heroines indulging in catfights, slapping each other's face and pulling their hair over hero is irritating to the core. Overall, even the hardcore fans can easily avoid watching the film.
This is almost the weakest film in everyone's career who worked for the film.Even the only strength of the film which is music,is so badly used that we get irritated with the song picturisaton and placement.I think the cover version sings done by youngsters looks more appealing than the movie's.Anirudh's BGM is totally out of sync with the scenes.
So,Agnyaathavaasi is one of the most unexpected disasters of Tollywood and especially from Talented Writer-Director "You Know Who".
My rating 3.5/10

This movie is so bad that I can't believe I was able to watch the whole movie. Can't even understand anything in the movie. Very bad execution. Best of luck next time Pawan and Trivikram.
#Agnyaatavaasi
Probably I had watched a re-edited version with Venkatesh Cameo and my first feeling is .. It could have been better.
The story line was strong but Trivikram played a spoilsport with useless embedded comedy, that is what I meant "an operation that was not necessary". Had it been the case with little more engaging screenplay and serious taking it could have been a wonderful film. Pawan tried his best to pull out but again his womanish comedy tests your patience. Anirudh did a decent job with some out of the box background score with live instruments and very neat timing (timing is a vital factor in composing BGM that many composers lack nowadays). For me songs are big let down. They lack the punch needed for a BIG STAR film, that I believe DSP could have given. A last minute surgery done by adding Venkatesh cameo couldn't help much. The most impressive part in this film is Climax which is world class! Its time for Trivikram to rejuvenate his lost glory else I fear to say that he might end up like another Srinu Vaitla. I could see his downtrend starting from Aa..Aaa..

It lacks all the elements. Even Trivikram's humor failed. Only two songs are good. The scenes are boring. Director's attempt to follow the format 'Last 20 minutes Humor that saved Attarintiki Daredi' failed here.I believe Trivikram is a Good Writer but poor directional skills. Also Pavan Kalyan looks Aged. Craze is never a Saviour as Content.
Hope "Jai Simha" film of star Ballayya will be a good entertainer for this festival.
The most hyped Agnyathavasi was trembled at box office because of slow narration and boring screenplay. Although pawan kalyan was best in his acting, the screenplay made him look dull. On a while the viewer feels that a short story is dragged for two and half hour movie and test ones patience. Music is average. Two heroines are present just for songs. Lame comedy scenes at times. Attarintiki Daredi traces can be seen as kushboo in place of nadia, koteswararao in place of brahmi character. Unnecessary and unbelievable fights, Unnecessary production costs. Overall it is clearly out of sankranti race.
