Hadi Be Oglum- a must watch movie!

It was very lucky to have this movie here in the UK with english subtitles and it was even more lucky for me to have been able to watch it with a fellow dedicated Kivancster with all her busy lifestyle (the humble and warm Anna) It was a cold and freezing typical english winter day we both took a day off from work and started our Friday morning early getting ready to head to the North of London for Hadi Be Oglum, as we sat down for the movie I was a bit nervous as there was a big excitement and anticipation for the movie. The film started and Kivanc appeared on the big screen(looking tanned and most handsome he's ever been!) with a hint of comedy we all laughed.Kivanc has such a good facial expressions for acting whether it is comedy or emotional scenes, with Kivanc i laugh or cry just before he even says a word by looking at his facial expressions. This particular movie tells a story of a father's (Ali) struggle towards his son (Efe) who has a special need.Ali is a hard working man in Kas together with his father they strive for every day life at the same time they try hard to give Efe a better life.Ali's greatest ambition in life is to get a loving reaction from Efe as Efe is unable to speak or show any sort of emotions due to his condition. All Ali wanted from life and Efe was one loving look or a single word of love from his son nothing else! the movie carries on with this plot and Ali's struggle to achieve it, there comes a very interesting and exciting life path for Efe but little that they knew they will also tread in uncharted waters... Kivanc played the role of Ali very well i believed in every story he told me i believed in each of his emotions, cries and struggles in his life.As a renowned actor Kivanc can carry heavy emotions easily and naturally that is exactly what happened in this movie the best story was told in a very natural and straight forward way, in his acting ability Kivanc is very captivating that the audience has no chance not to be able to engage in with his character (this is a fact that i know from watching him in his tv roles) the two hours that we sat felt almost like seconds i remember asking Anna if we for sure have been in the cinema for two hours that is Kivanc!! as the story line goes on the movie highlights issues related with autism and societies awareness and acceptance of differences and one's struggle in life which is highly portrayed by Kivanc as Ali.Kivanc always gives all he has and puts his heart into what he does hence a remarkable and outstanding result. The young boy's (Alihan) talent is incredible in the movie, how a young boy like him can carry such emotions and how he completely understands the importance of the story and his character is beyond words.Busra Develi's (Efe's mother)scene is short yet sweet and memorable. There is beautiful music throught the movie in combination with breathtaking scenery for a moment i thought i was in Kas.Over all i had a very enjoyable and unforgettable day and one of my highlights of 2018 so far.I recommend this movie to everyone out there who belives in love, hope acceptance and perseverance in life...

Hadi be Oglum - a must watch

Hadi be oglum (Come on, my son) is Kivanc Tatlitug's highly anticipated new film and his return to the big screen five years after award winning Kelebegin Rüyasi (The Butterfly's Dream). The film premiered in Turkey and a number of European cities on the 16th of February and I was lucky enough to be able to go watch it in London on a cold, dry Friday morning with @Ream_RR, a fellow Kivo-maniac :) The film focuses on the relationship between single parent Ali (a local fisherrman in Kas) and his son Efe (a 7-year old autistic child). Ali's greatest desire is to know that his son understands him. Efe has never spoken and has never looked at anyone in the eyes. Ali tries hard to reach out to his kid and bond with him but no matter how hard he tries he is met with no response. Ali is emotionally exhausted but he never gives up his hope, he never gives up trying. Efe is his life, his everything. This is a movie about love, hope, sacrifice and heartache. It is the story of a father who would do anything for his son - his heart knows no boundaries. It is about how we survive when things are looking dire and how we rise above the challenges and overcome our own self-doubts. We are brought up in a rather uniform way and find it difficult to accept anyone that looks, thinks or behaves differently. This is a film about acceptance and celebration of difference and an understanding that there is more than one way to view, perceive and communicate with the world around us. It is also a film about a child who is trying to reach out. It is a story of a father and his son and their individual and mutual journeys. It is a simple, humane movie with a very straightforward, clear message that is communicated with honesty, sincerity and subtlety and is therefore a movie that will touch your heart, leave tears in your eyes and leave you with a feeling of warmth, hope and possibly a new perspective on life. One of the film's greatest strengths is its actors - this is such a character driven film that its success is heavily dependent on the actors' ability to take the characters through their individual journeys. Thankfully, the performances are outstanding, superb, awe-inspiring ( I could go on and on). They all hit it out of the park but I would like to focus on two actors in particular - Kivanc (Ali) and Alihan (Efe). Alihan is an 8-year old actor who moved me in his remarkable depiction of a child on the autistic spectrum trying to connect with his father and the outside world. It is beyond me how an 8-year old is able to understand convey such complicated emotions so convincingly and naturally. One of his most memorable moments is towards the end of the film where Efe is using up all the energy in his little body in an effort to communicate with his father. His performance gave me shivers. And, of course, there is Kivanc. Kivanc, who has blown us away many times in the past with his immense acting abilities. Kivanc is a chameleon, able to transform physically and otherwise with every single role. He is a versatile actor who is not afraid to take risks and challenge himself. He is an acting powerhouse and, as Ali, he once again blew me away. Every time I watch him in a new role I only see small glimpses of his past performances. He becomes that character. And in Hadi, Kivanc became Ali - an everyday man with a big heart and an unconditional love for his child. Kivanc is an incredibly handsome man but you do not focus on his looks when watching the film - you see him as a loving dad who is trying to connect with his son. Ali makes you smile, laugh and cry - often at the same time. Kivanc has the ability to emotionally connect with the viewer like no other and once again he gave us a natural, quietly powerful, multi-award winning performance that I hope does not go unnoticed. He owned and nailed each and every scene in Hadi. The film's music was not only beautiful and fitting with the mood of given scenes but it was also crucial and very much tied to the theme and the storyline. Music is transcendent - a bridge between different worlds, viewpoints, perspectives. Music is a means of communication, music can bond us and help us understand each other. The photography was also stunning and the landscapes were breathtaking. The calmness and serenity of the scenery often contrasted the characters' inner turmoil but also ultimately helped them find that inner peace and connection that they were desperately looking for. This was one beautiful, little gem of a movie that was communicating simple, universal messages of humanity in an unforced way. It is a film that filled my heart with warmth, hope and happiness and one that I would highly recommend to everyone.

    Marvellous acting

An exceptional acting from Ali and Efe. Kavanc acting is great so was the Efe acting. Actually a little story stretching may add some good remarks but still film was not a regular topic.

Sacred bond between Father & Son - lovely movie

Hadi Be Oglum is the Turkish superstar Kivanc Tatlitug's much anticipated feature film since his last award-winning installation in 2013, The Butterfly's Dream. Known for his complete transformation for a role, primarily in Turkish TV dramas, we have seen him go from a prison-hardened street fighter (Kuzey Guney) to a suave man with a mysterious past (Cesur ve Guzel) to a scrawny, tuberculosis ridden poet in The Butterfly's Dream. With several other noteworthy characters in between, and regardless of the script, Kivanc never fails to impress with his versatility and his full-body acting. Hadi Be Oglum is a simple, heartfelt story about a young, single father looking to connect with his special needs child from a one night stand. With breathtaking cinematography and a soulful soundtrack as the backdrop, Kivanc as Ali, a fisherman in a small village in Turkey, adopts all the mannerisms of a hopeful, doting, hard-working father whose purpose in life is to be able to reach his son. His range of emotions as he tries to find meaning in his son's silence is tear-jerking and beautiful. As the story unfolds with the small set of characters, it is hard not to fall in love with them. Father and son shares an eternal bond, as Ali shows through his relationship with his own father, and then his son. There are not many surprises in the storyline, but it is poignantly put together. For Kivanc lovers, it's a must watch as we see him go from strength to strength. For those of you who don't know him, it's high time that you did. You won't regret it!

    Come on My Son

What a movie, what a performance, so much emotions, what an experience.

The performance of Kivanç Tatlitug, his non-dialogue facial expressions, emotions, gestures... truly what acting is all about. Truly concerned father expressed through his tears, frustration expressed through his gestures, grattitude and pride of his son expressed through his deliverance. His best performance to date without a doubt.

The role of Efe played by Alihan, amazing kid who has definetely a future in this business, and a major supporting role in achieving and creating moments of amazing drama alongside Kivanç's character.

This is the definition of a truly spirit of an independent drama film. BRAVO!

Turkey is moving forward in the movie industry in the last decade, and with movies like this. Watch out, there is serious competition.
