Wonderfull acting, gripping story lines!

Yes, the first episode was not that well, but then! As the story keeps unfolding it's little lies we, the audience are growing more and more addicted to the show. For me this is an example of how well script and actors are combined in the best way possible. After watching it, it will ponder your mind for several days for sure.

Morality -VS- Perception

First I thought what an asinine judicial system for Belgium, people being charged & convicted for crimes by prosecutors using the stupidest reason for guilt. But it happens everyday in the USA; innocent people are convicted and sent to prison. How do we want to be perceived as individuals is asked numerous ways throughout the series. I believe the ending is worth the wait!

Fantastic performances, storytelling and pace! A second season would be great!

I found this series fascinating. The story is delivered in different time frames, so we follow the case in court while some flashbacks drop hints or revelations about what really happened.

There is thrill and suspense until the very end, and the last episode is really nerve wrecking and emotionally painful. I will not include spoilers here, but the ending leaves much room for reflection about guilt, justice, truth and retribution.

Every single performance here is outstanding, and the storytelling proceeds at a superb pace, with a remarkable balance between what is revealed and what is withheld.

The story goes beyond the case and extends to the transformative effects of the procedure in the lives of the jurors and their families, as well as the impact their private experiences have in the way they finally will vote for or against absolution.

If a second season of the story comes out with a follow up of the eventsl, I will be the first to watch it! Strongly recommended show for genre lovers!

Very intriguing

Getting an insight in the process of a commons jury makes one doubt on his own capability of judging...

A very good series

With a very unsatisfying ending.

I felt like I was ripped off with an ending that left multiple questions unanswered.

It was very interesting to see how a trial is conducted in another country.

Definitely worth the watch

An 8.5 would be a better rating in my book. Really well produced show. I personally love listening to shows in other languages and I don't see many with Flemish as the main language so this was cool. Also really neat seeing this different type of jury and legal system.

It's a drama for sure with a well drawn out storyline and great acting. Every episode I was changing who I thought might be guilty, it moved in all directions. There were a few dull scenes but for the majority I enjoyed the watch and would recommend it to others.

Really interesting

Belgium court is so different then Canada. I really enjoyed watching this. The acting was superb even the young actors in the flashbacks! The stories of the jury were really interesting and it really makes one wonder who is judging what! I would very much recommend this and won't spoil the story for others.

Interesting look at another justice system

Overall it is pretty interesting. Some of the characters actions are rather odd which is distracting sometimes. Maybe they would make more sense to people in Belgium? The detective/prosecutor's motivations are not explained(yet), the husband who thinks she can jut get out of jury duty but she never brings that up, The sad/weird older monkey guy. I read some backstory on the motivations for this story, which is a look at if the jury system is fair, balanced, and is it the best we can do for justice. I also have wondered about the US jury system as well. Does it make sense to use 12 ordinary people to decide such complex issues? This show is obviously over dramatized but does raise many questions.

Excellent Storytelling & Acting

There's a surprise in almost all 10-episodes. Fantastic script, acting, photography, and pacing. It's not for average action movie fans, but highly recommended.

12 angry people = 1 multi-layered courtroom drama

Anyone who ever served on a jury can relate to the situation. The life of the accused is resting on your decision to weigh the evidence and then decide beyond a reasonable doubt if that person is innocent or guilty.

In addition to a gripping court room drama, "The Twelve" gives the viewer simultaneous insight into the troubled lives of each of the jurors. Each one of them has problems of their own, sometimes possibly conflicting with their assignment as jurors in a double-murder trial. Can each of the objectively decide the fate of the defendant?

Each of the 10 episodes focuses closely on one of the juror's personal life, and frequently individual jurors interact with one another, even forming friendships. The final episode delivers many shockers, and in the end all conflicts find a satisfactory resolution. Nonetheless, the very best surprise is saved for last! - I watched this series in the English dub version, which was quite well done. I can highly recommend this drama series!

Pleasantly Intrigued

I simply loved it. The script is fantastic and the actors live up to it. A first class production with very sound directing. This along with a multitude of good character building... makes this a winner.

(would have been a 10 if not for the ending)

Watchable!

It's hardly a classic, but the pieces are interwoven smartly, the characters feel genuine (and genuinely broken), and the story-telling moves briskly. Definitely worth a watch.

A throughly enjoyable and suspenseful drama.

I hadn't heard of this drama, set within a court case in Ghent, Belgium. Initially I was not immediately hooked but I was intrigued mainly because there are stark differences between the continental and common law systems that I found really fascinating to watch. I've seen plenty of British and American court dramas and I've enjoyed many of them. This drama really developed into a straight 'who done it' but with plenty of ambiguity right up until the final scenes! I really enjoyed it. It's not perfect. There's a few moments of ' why don't you just!!' frustrations with characters but by the end I was still pausing the drama to discuss and decide who the guilty party is with my family members. That is a rare occurrence as the majority of 'who don't it's' are obvious. I good court drama that I recommend you stick with right up till the end. It's also got a couple of the most disgusting and reprehensibly immoral characters I've seen for a long time. They're a joy to hate!

Complicated

A court case with many side stories make this an interesting series, but the side issues make the case too complicated to get a just verdict on the evidence provided. The evidence is not proper evidence in most jurisdictions. It seems that Belgium has a juristic system without proper checks and balances in this series.

Disappointed

At first I was very excited and curious about the story, but in the last episodes, I felt like it was a waste of time.

I was waiting for a big revelation that never came.

The role of jurors was very boring. It had prospects for something much better.

Great Series

Really enjoyed it. Captured my attention, moved at a good pace. I enjoyed the in depth look into the characters and the variety of angles explored. Each character they delved into had an interesting and unique perspective. Obviously not all juries are going to have these type of stories to them, but it does help remind you what each jury member brings to the table.

I am writing this before the last episode, because sometimes last episodes really let me down by having some lame twist and I don't want that to discolor my opinion.

My biggest takeaway? Their legal system is crazy! And not very good.

The Writers and Director Made the Twelve a Great Film

It's as if they lined up a bunch of characters at start line in the first episode and moved everyone, and the story, along at exactly the right speed for ten episodes. I am not a film person but I think whoever wrote and directed this were a bunch of geniuses. I thoroughly enjoyed it and about halfway through the third episode knew I was witnessing genius at work.
