Lost Song

Art and motion is average 7-8 point. Song will peak more and more while the story move on. Character development is great. Plot twist is Dammmm. And the greatest in this story is the wonderful of character, especially MC (Rin).

It's a good show that's out of the box. Has a surmise twist that I enjoyed.

Wow. At first, it seems pretty predictable, as the previous reviewer mentioned. However they should have watched more than the first two episodes. At episode six the story starts taking some very different turns than expected. By the very end you understand that you really did not know what you were watching at the beginning. It was well made, beautiful visuals, beautiful songs, very good story. Definitely original. Very good anime.

So I found out about this anime from watching Anime America's recent YouTube video being based around the "BEST AND WORST ANIME OF 2018!". Basically I decided to go check this out because the songs in it are meant to be good and I like good music as any person would lol. However after just 2 episodes, I dropped it for two reasons = the storyline being too predictable and character development.

When you see a fairy tale, you think of a good looking damsel in distress who is rather good for nothing, gets captured by the bad guys and waits around for a Prince to rescue her. Filos and Rin (she might as well be since she looks exactly like a spitting image of Snow White!) are that type of characters in all honesty. Yeah she sings but didn't the princesses from Disney belt out songs too? The only difference was the princesses from Disney sung better loveable songs then the songs from "Lost Song" .

Personally speaking I do not find this was one the best anime of 2018 but instead goes into my rubbish bin...

Lots of cliches and tropes, the animation is as clunky as the dialogue is stilted. The conversations are unnatural like one person speaks, pause, next person speaks, pause, first person replies, pause. The second half of the series gets very convoluted as they try and do some "clever" twists that the writers clearly saw in some other shows and wanted to mimic but didn't understand what they were copying. It's very pretty to look at and the story is vaguely interesting though massively overdone. There's just nothing too original and worthwhile about this series. That being said, we watched all the episodes in one setting because it was an inoffensive albiet fairly bland show that had some characters we kinda liked but will forget by next week. The writers and directors needed to be more confident of their ideas instead of mimicking things they liked in other shows. At it's core there's a lot of decent ideas and concepts it all just feels very unpolished and buried in cliche mediocrity. It's not horrible it's just not memorable. If they do more id be interested in seeing it because you can tell they tried and wanted to do something really special but this felt like a pilot series rather than its own entity.
