A very good movie to watch in 2021 with out any expectations, big budget, and no big CGIs. Simple story, brilliantly executed script, with a feel good ending. A must watch with kids.

If you are looking for a nice, feel good story for the whole family to watch, this movie is a solid option. It is not a Hollywood masterpiece by any means, but you will enjoy this film with your kids. The characters are likable and the storyline is one that you can get behind. It is based on a true story after all. It incorporates religion at times but is NOT shoving anything down your throat, which I think many viewers can appreciate. There are a couple moments of forced tension to add to the drama that probably should have been done away with, but overall this is an innocent family film that you can feel good about watching.

This is a decent, predictable feel good movie. Other than the fact that it looked like Omar gave birth to the marlin after a long intense labour, it was good!

Gee, a good ole flick with just a little language but NO BLASPHEMY! Yes predictable it enjoyable nevertheless. Characters are rather obvious as well but sit back and enjoy!

It is a very nice true story; the actors are decent and the plot is fine; my best wishes for the Casa Hogar in Cabo San Lucas.

Not a bad family movie, thought the plot is a little hackneyed and easy to predict. The boat they used was WAAAAY too old and I'm not sure why - the real one wasn't and it really didn't add much to the story, but it did look silly and stood out right from the start.

What I can't figure out is how there was NO one on the cast who could've pointed out that the captain's magic lure is one that has to be trolled and doesn't work when drifting or anchoring??? It's a real basic thing for just about anyone who has ever fished. That was really annoying to me.

Maybe worth a watch, but not something I want to watch again.

The story is actually good but most of the actors (specially main character Papa Omar) are not. When the movie is over you feel like there is something missing. I could have been so much more! I think it's a shame when a bad movie ruins such a good story. It's still worth watching anyway.

I would like to say the opposite, but ... Good message and great real history, but what a terrible movie (and extremely bad acting)...

I loved it. Nice for family, even adults! I watched it alone. Such a good movie about orphans and great role models for them. Nice to watch a movie without all the garbage.

A family friendly movie based on a true story. Some variations were done in the film compared to the real event, but that's generally always the case.

What was really interesting, was reading that the actor for Omar, Jimmy Gonzales literally had that rough childhood where he lived in foster homes, and was even a drug courier. I'm sure this role probably meant a lot to him personally.

The constant blue theme made for beautiful visuals throughout. And fishing as a whole is something I plainly just enjoy, so the whole concept of the film along with its messages was enjoyable.

Everything felt forced. The writing was lazy, dialog felt unnatural, you could tell which parts were made up and which parts were true. All the conflicts and drama were definitely faked. It was just incredibly lazy. "Oh let's add character conflict here! This scene needs more excitement." You had something good and you ruined it.

Cute film. About a guy trying to raise money for an orphanage through a fishing tournament. Decent cast. Good story.

This movie is watchable but not much more than that. It had very little character development so the climax felt underwhelming and the movie was quite predictable. If the movie had put more time into developing a few of the main characters, this movie would have been a lot more emotional and better overall. You can't expect much more from a movie which is based mostly on fishing. It's a 6/10 for me.

The plot was based on true events as you all know plus it was decent . The movie was fun . A movie you can watch with your family .

Blue Miracle ist not a spectecular or mind-blowing good movie. But it is heart warming, and nice to watch with a solid story and execution. Not fantastic but definitly not bad either and perfect for a chilled movie at the evening after work. Edit: I really liked all the blue elements "hid" in the movie like nearly every T-Shirt, Cars, Fishes, houses etc.

Blue Miracle hooks you up beautifully and toys a line of 'obvious outcome' for 90 minutes, while keeping you completely glued and emotionally invested. Jimmy Gonzales and Dennis Quaid are at the absolute top of their game. The story is told out fantastically. The movie and it's learnings dawn on you like fine wine on a Saturday evening. A huge plus is the perfect character buildup of 'Papa Omar'. The only drawback maybe is slight over dramatization of events. But hey, that adds to the goodness.

And when I learnt it was a true story, it gave me goosebumps. Watch it without second thought!

The title is the first word that came to mind. Great cinematography. The closeness and intimacy of the shots are incredible.

And all of thr storyline is incredible. A true story. Wow!

Such a beautiful true story is told very abstractly. The characters are not deep, everything is superficial and cliché. Why do Mexicans speak English, nonsense ...

The real life story is awesome, not just an improbable victory, but one that benefits poor children in Cabo. Like it or not, it's a simple story with a predictable ending but you can't help but like it. Well filmed, adequate acting. The kids were great.

Reel Tunez Movie Review (6/5/21): "Blue Miracle"

What a great feel good movie! If your eyes don't get a little teary, you may be dead. Just a very sweet movie (Netflix release/not theatrical). Though a Netflix movie, it would have been nice seeing this beautifully shot and produced story on the big screen at a theater.

There is a lot written into this story that is "movie story-line" (like the part about the captain, played Dennis Quaid), but many parts are close to true. After watching it, you may be inspired to donate. Hope you watch this movie and ARE inspired to help out this orphanage.

I'd give this about a 6.8 out of 10.. which is a very good rating. Excellent acting (from the kids thru the adults), beautifully shot and produced, great story, and well worth watching. The lead on this.. "Papa", played by Jimmy Gonzalez, did a phenomenal job. All the actors were great.. and the kids in the movie are excellent young actors! The production value is top-notch from camera work to audio to editing. It's truly "motion picture quality".. and a great story!

Who can dislike this movie with such a warm and full of humanity storyline. Life can be quite simple and happy if we have a good heart and when desire is gone.

Great feel good movie. But goodness, talk about sticking with the title. EVERYTHING is BLUE!!

Not sure what they were going for but it's a little annoying and keeps it in the sub Disney category.

It's a good touching story but some how I got bored & could not concentrate fully..

As others have said, this is a light feel good movie. You pretty much know from the start how the story will go, so there are no surprises. I felt that they could've done a better job to stir the emotions, but the story telling is straightforward. I mean, I can only imagine what Koreans can do with it if they remade it.

Overall it is good, but not great. Feels like a Sunday school lesson if anything, maybe a church play. However, I like how they hit on certain strong points about responsibility, values in life, and such. These are things often people overlook in real life and lose sight of what is important.
