School 2017 is a drama that perfectly captures the struggles and joys of being a teenager. Set in a high school, it follows the lives of a group of students as they deal with pressure, relationships, and discovering who they truly are. The main focus is on Ra Eun-ho, a bright, independent girl who dreams of becoming a webtoon artist, and her journey through high school with friends, teachers, and love interests. There's a lot of heart, humor, and some real-life challenges woven into the story, making it so relatable to anyone who's ever been through school.
What makes School 2017 stand out is how it mixes the lighthearted moments of teenage life with the deeper, more serious topics. The show isn't just about high school romance or friendships; it dives into issues like societal pressure, family expectations, and the struggles of figuring out who you want to be. It's refreshing to watch a show that doesn't shy away from showing how messy life can be during those formative years.
The chemistry between the leads, played by Kim Se-jeong and Jang Dong-yoon, is so natural and sweet. Their relationship grows in such a way that it feels both organic and real. Plus, the whole supporting cast adds a lot of depth to the story, bringing in different perspectives that make the show feel like a genuine portrayal of high school life.
If you're looking for a drama that's fun, relatable, and full of heart, School 2017 is a great pick. It's a wonderful mix of teen drama, comedy, and emotional growth, and it'll have you hooked from start to finish.

School 2017 has a lighthearted story. Good writing. But not the best. Raising the issues of schoolchildren is an interesting point when the romance aspect is less memorable for me.
Out of interest for the stars you may be interested to check out their early performances. They display charisma enough to make them stand out. Kim Jung Hyun from Crash Landing looks a little too grown up for a high schooler here. Jang Dong Yoon of Search is a good actor. Kim Se Jeong is pretty here and her look is better than in Uncanny Counter.
The story is weak and doesn't say anything new. Bad people in charge of schools is familiar and boring. Rich vs poor has also been done before. The Pranskter X isn't a story that should stretch out so long. The love story didn't evolve in a natural clever way. And the violence storyline also felt tacked on. When they ran out of one plot line they moved on to another bun didn't develop them together in a clever integrated way.
Skip this one. School 2015 was better and that isn't saying much.
I watched the first episode and didn't think much of it as i left school quite a bit ago and felt a bit past this. Two months later i watched episode 2, and i'm so glad i did! Admittedly Korean schools are different to Australian schools, but fundamentally the friendships and the crazy parents/staff are exactly the same, and the kids fight the system just as hard. It took me back to high school and i loved the friendships, the fights, the plotting, the storyline and really ended up enjoying the series. Watch it, don't give up like i nearly did! The eye candy, horrible, rebellious and the kids that 'aren't quite there' make it great too because that is in every school too, wherever in the world you are.
As the heading suggests it is childish and the acting is not great. The actors might have been capable of doing better acting but i cant say anything for sure since the script and plot was trash. It was not a very well planned out drama and was super rushed. I cringed a few timed but it wasn't thAt cringy overall.
