The shots of the highway that Scott uses to go to and from work is the same highway as seen in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960).
This house was also the family home in the Selma Blair thriller In Their Skin - Sie wollen dein Leben (2012).
Dennis Quaid previously starred in Cold Creek Manor - Das Haus am Fluss (2003) a movie about a family who moves to a rural historic family home which the previous owner refuses to let go. In this film his role is reversed.
