Very nice made, but for that content, it should have been little shorter, or should have little more content. overall, we enjoyed. Family movie, good amount of comedy, drama is there.
It has depicted the emotions very well and connects to the audience. It's slow moving, sometimes audience may feel little bored.

A movie like this among the pile of crap Sandalwood produces was a pleasant surprise. When I saw TV-PG rating on Netflix I was definitely skeptical about it. It's very rare that you find good PG comedies now a days. Also, I had never heard of the actor/director. So, deciding click on it was purely to forward and skim through. The first scene was quite funny so kept watching it and before I knew I was hooked.
First of all, it takes guts to make self-deprecating jokes and second of all weaving nuanced comedy with a simple story line takes vision and talent. Director/actor has done both. Getting featured on Netflix is definitely a big step. Hope the director/actor finds success and keeps making good movies.

Been waiting for this movie for a while now (especially after watching the trailer) and it did not disappoint to say the least. Was a very well written script and execution was even better. Very simple story line about a simple man and his problem but the message was brought out in a very significant way. Entire movie was entertaining and had that small pinch of emotion and feelings exactly when it was required. Hope to see this great young unit make more movies in the future. It has been great in the recent times to see these new filmmakers with fresh ideas which has set up a very exciting platform for the future of the Kannada film industry.

This movie keeps you entertained till the very end. One of the finest movies made in Sandalwood this year! With rib tickling dialogues in truly Mangalurean style and having really emotional sequences, this movie is a treat to watch. There are a lot of references to Dr. Rajkumar in the movie, which gives you goosebumps if you're Annavru's fan. Also a simple yet a unique script, the movie is worth watching more than once!

Had a lot of expectations from this movie since the trailer was really interesting & slick. The current trend of Kannada movies with really good story lines & good but non established actors was also playing on my mind.
The movie has a very realistic story of a simple Kannada teacher who struggles to find a bride for himself due to his ordinary looks (the bald head being the main problem).
The chemistry between the actors is really good & the 2nd half really shines. Lot of funny moments involving well placed songs of Dr Rajkumar but certain parts of the story leave you frustrated at the decisions made by the protagonist.
The pros : Good performances, music & a well conveyed lesson about what beauty really is. The cons : Very slow paced movie & the story was a bit predictable.
Worth watching once simply due to the lovely message conveyed in this movie.

This film gave me best 2 hours of time , every camera shot of this movie has significance .It gives life lessons too , and at many scenes i can relate to this , symmetry between my life and this narration .
1. Honest and real relations can also start from Facebook chats
2. You expect too much about looks , but in the chase you get trapped into something which you didn't wish .
3.Break ups are not easy once you get attached to girls and there are feelings from both sides , once you forcefully move away its blackout and trauma is huge .
4. Both girls are dumped by their previous bfs , but i found fat girl is righteous as she was not acquanted with our hero "motte" , before she had bf . The other thin girl at colleges looks pro hypergamist , she has claudistine relationship with good looking men , she was woke only after realising his macho man was married .
5. This movie explains 'friend zoning ' splendidly , especially about sweet talking girls who come with some agenda . It takes an uneasy start for a successful romantic story . Looks again are needed but not compulsion , there are other variables involved . If you are average looking but girl enjoys your company , you still have the chance !!
Technicality direction , acting of every person is perfect , in line with what story relates to . I found name ONDU MOTTEYA KATHE , very unique then searched for literature , when watched full awestuck . This kind of movies always benefits our language , and keeps viewers integrity intact .

There is something about films made by debut directors who are skilled - they are mostly worth watching . Maybe it's the fact that the director thinks it might his/her only shot and hence strives to create something superior it might also be the fact that they are more raw and not after capturing the market they had with their initial success. Ulidavru kandanthe, Munnabhai and Death in the Goonj are few movies that come to mind of debut directors that fit this template . Whatever it is OMK lives up to that promise. Like Ulidavru here the lead is also the director which seems to make they go all in to deliver something spectacular.
I had watched the movie a few years back when it released and watched it again when Raj Shetty's new trailer brought back memories of OMK. The movie takes a great script about the challenges of a bald India man to find a bride in a small town of Mangalore and through some terrific acting and screenplay creates some memorable sequences.
There are many high points in the movie - the comedy scenes in the first half where the college peon stands out , the understated but brilliant acting by the entire cast , the references to Rajkumar timed perfectly and definitely the authenticity with which Mangalore (my hometown ) is shown. Though there a couple of low points like the episode with the girl selling hair growth that seems cliched those are few and don't diminish the movie.
Overall watch the movie for going against the grain to cast a non-traditional lead but more importantly I would recommend to watch it for terrific execution of a great script making it in my opinion one of the best Kannada movies made in recent times !

A very simple movie narrating the bride hunt of a bald protagonist. Though the climax is predictable and cinematic, the narration doesn't lack pace and keeps you engaging and entertained. The casting was perfect and Raj B Shetty fits 'T' to this role.

Ondu motteya kathe is a very good movie showing one particular part of the society whonis facing the problema of baldness and the character sketched and highlighted in the movie named narayana. It was very good in terms of narrative, storyline, direction, acting, etc. I liked the movie and i feel it would have been better if some improvements were given. So my rating for this movie is 9 out of 10 which indicates that the movie is watchable and can be recommended to someone to watch. The movie is available in some platforms which cane be watched freely too. So finally ondu motteya kathe is a good movie especially the segments of acting by narayana and others in characters of the movie.

A story of a bald bachelor in search of a bride. The film shows some of the effects of the arranged marriage system of India and how much the good looks matter in the marriage market. The story and the execution are quite predictable from the premise itself although considering as it is the debut of Raj B Shetty as director and actor he has done a fine job. The best part of the film has to be Shetty's turn as the protagonist, who we got to sympathise with and hate only to realise his behaviour is a common product of the Indian society.

Nothing so special or brilliant abt the movie. Ordinary flick with ordinary script and acting
