To provide some context first: This short was filmed as camera tests with Neill Blomkamp, who was at some point considered to do the HALO Movie. All you see here are basically just camera tests he did during his trial runs.

The ODST "Search and Rescue Team" is trying to acquire the data on where the MASTER CHIEF, Earths last hope for survival, is gonna land. This whole operation is just to find out the location on where the MASTER CHIEF is gonna land so the UNSC (Earths Military Force) can be by his side before the COVENANT (Alien Aliance Military Force)—Eduard Moldovan

The ODST "Search and Rescue Team" is trying to acquire the data on where the MASTER CHIEF, Earths last hope for survival, is gonna land. Two of the Soldiers are trying to find a large Scan Device that has been buried under a pile of rubble. After acquiring that necessary device for tracking the position of the MASTER CHIEF when landing, they are requesting an evacuation from their position since they are on heavy fire from the opposing Alien Military Force the COVENANT, which is a term from the humans for the Alien Alliance between different species which purpose it is to find artifacts of their forefathers and destroy Earth and all human life. The request is then granted and a "Pelican", a futuristic military plane is dropping a "Warthog", a futuristic military vehicle with a rail-gun mounted at the back. They are then driving to a location from which they can activate the scanner while being in contact with operators from the human military base. During their escape from their original position they are still being followed by enemies and the co-driver is then being shot with an alien gun. They ask for help and are being redirected to another fire team of the same operation that has a medic in their squad. After successfully drive to their position the medic takes care of the wounded soldier while all the other soldiers trying to hold of the alien advances on their position, which are mainly "Brutes", Alien members of the covenant and the physically strongest members on top that have brutish almost gorilla-like behavior and strength while still moving on two legs and being able to shoot guns and wear armor. While being heavily injured and partially being killed the first injured soldier now being somewhat able to starts to scan the meteor falling from the sky. This meteor is in fact the MASTER CHIEF, who can withstand extreme heat and impact damage due to his MJOLNIR SPARTAN Armor. After successfully scanning their target and pass on the information of the drop point they are giving permission to evacuation into a tunnel that is then closed off with a metal door after shooting one more rocket from a rocket launcher at an Brute Elite that was wielding a gravity-hammer.
