As a wheelchair user myself, I had an interest in this story. I like seeing my fellow "wheelies" succeed beyond what society expects of them. Ms. Snyder's story is indeed compelling. Unfortunately, the overdone melodrama in this film actually undercuts it, in my opinion. And a couple of elements in this film make it clear it was done on the cheap. Still, I thought the lead actress did a good job. And I like that Ms. Snyder -- whom this film is about -- did stunt riding in this film. A positive step for including people with disabilities in making movies.
I don't watch much rodeo in reality or movies, but my husband and I happened to see this. While there were a number of movie missteps, the inspiration was palpable. For me, Missi Pyle's performance was the best. Her struggles with being a mom of an injured daughter--wanting both the championship's for her daughter but knowing the setbacks that devastate--and feeling helpless at restoring her health moved me to tears more than once. I think this is one of Ms Pyles' best performances. It breaks the mold of her playing mean blondes or dumb blondes. This was truly enjoyable.

Watched this at the assisted living facility with some of the residents. We were supposed to watch a different movie, but this is the one that got queued up. It moved quickly--I wish they'd put more time reference in to know just how long it took her to recuperate, etc... One of the ladies watching had had back surgery years earlier so she knew all about the different therapies and procedures.
Now, it's cheesy in some spots, pretty predictable--especially if you know it's an autobiographical piece. I got a bit annoyed at the turn on a dime mood swings from despair to determination that seems to run through the film, but at the same time, I understand that it takes time to get determined and sometimes you've got to fail to succeed. I was hoping there was an update about her and the boy from Montana, but it wasn't at the end of the movie.
This is a good family story. It's real life scary in a spot or two, and I had to go get some tissues because no one had any. Inspirational without being preachy.

It's got a lot going for it: based on a true story, inspirational, horses, good supporting cast. (FYI - all the stunt riding after the accident was done by Amberley Snyder, herself, and the riding before the accident was done by her little sister, Autumn.) I give this movie a 7 (good) out of 10. {Drama}

Every now and then, we come across stories like this that inspire us and bring us little closer to the rhythm of life... I usually do not write reviews of uplifting and feel-good movies.. however, watching this one with a rider at home almost compelled me :-) story of a young girl's struggle to coming to terms with a bitter reality and her determination.. to some extent it does lack emotional aspect, depth of the situation and characterization a little, but stories like this deserve to be told.. Convincing performance by the protagonist..

I love country music but I think this movie let itself down by putting too many songs in. A lot of them were at inappropriate times at the scene would have been powerful without the music.
Also the romance element seemed totally pointless and irrelevant. One minute they were strangers and the next we're just supposed to accept they are boyfriend and girlfriend? Virtually no development.
On the plus side, it does leave you with a "feel good" feeling and amazing to see the real Amberly Snynder doing her own stunts

I had a back injury in 2005, watching this movie was very emotional for me. No matter the odds you have to go on, and find a way as much as it hurts or as frustrated as you get. Having a special bond with animals will help you through. Stories like this need to be told. You never know if one day it will happen to you.

This movie theoretically had a plot, but it jumped through the times like mad and it disconnected the story. So instead of a movie it was several shorts.
Now to what really confused me, why in the hells did they not get an actress that could actually ride (during the close ups), because that fake horse with the super fluffy ears freaked me out 😂
Overall could have been done better and considering Netflixs budget and usual level I expected more.

Based on the true story of one of rodeo's most beloved athletes, this movie is wonderful. It is very heartwarming, but be prepared because it will make you cry. The obstacles this girl overcame is nothing short of amazing.

We were looking forward to this movie and we could really relate in a lot of ways. It's a sweet, simple movie and inspirational. BUT, it was too condensed with very little details, it just seemed to "skim through. The acting was *meh* and no one is getting an Oscar here. It's not real bad per say, but it just screened like yet another Hallmark movie(yawn). It's an OK movie when it could've been so much more.

The positives of this film include the lack of objectionable content and the pretty Country setting.
Sadly the acting was poor, and the writing tedious and after getting halfway through I realised it wasn't going to get any better.
Basically a non-romantic Hallmark movie. I would recommend skipping this one.

Not familiar with the real story this was based on,so no disrespect in that regards..
However was lacking in several aspects, which caused its downfall.
Actors chosen, their subpar acting & the inspirational one liners became a bit much.
It wasn't perfect, bit cheesy but still a film to pass time or..
Maybe help you if,going through a difficult situation.
Sorry. Not something to watch, more than once.
I have to admit this isn't normally my sort of film and I reluctantly watched only to be hooked early on following the tragic events. The story is truly inspirational and whilst I have no knowledge or interest in horses or rodeo it was more the human story of triumphing against the odds that shone through. Well portrayed by the whole cast and a joy to watch.

While an inspirational story. It is poorly produced, acted and had medical and horse related mistakes that will pull you out of the story, if you have any knowledge of either.

INSIDER rated this one of its "TOP 7 GREAT MOVIES ON NETFLIX, calling it "endearing, emotional, inspirational ... the perfect release for International Women's Day." I was truly moved by this powerful film, brilliantly directed by Conor Allyn. A must-see for families, horse lovers and all who love dramatic triumph over adversity.
I love Amberly Snyder, but this movie is minimal at best. The acting is maybe a 2. The writing could have been better. Amberlys story is one I've followed and this didn't do her justice. I can't buy that the actress has ever felt anything in her life, and the fake horse just topped it off.
The only thing that's saved this was watching Amberly do her own riding and seeing the real power.

My 10 year old is a horse obsessed barrel racer, so of course she wanted to watch this movie. She LOVED it. Although the accident scene was tough to watch, I also enjoyed the movie. Amberly Snyder's story is so inspirational and moving. I cried multiple times for a variety of reasons. I definitely recommend it.

I really loved this movie. You'll cry in some parts probably but if is a very good movie and ends well.
The actors/actresses in this film are not bad at their jobs, they just didn't have much to work with. There wasn't that chemistry between actors. Every seen was one on one, didn't feel realistic. The script was full of inspirational one-liners, and not much plot and character development. It didn't seem natural. There are so many details that they could have explored more - like why didn't she wear her seat belt? I couldn't make it through the whole movie because I got too bored.

I enjoyed the story and all that, great actors (specifically Spencer Locke and Missi Pule) but some of the line deliveries in the film were weak and didn't help tell the story. I was just sitting there at 2 am for it to release and was shooketh that it was the final version because those lines were DRY but like whatever. It was really good, I totes recommend it to a friend, or to whatever stranger online reads this review.... yah.
