Being a huge animation fan and really liking the idea, 'The Son of Bigfoot' had enough to make me want to see it. Seeing it, it may not be among the best films whether animated or not ever (nor did it intend to be) and is not perfect but it achieves very well at what it set out to do and doesn't try to be any more than it actually is, clearly knowing what it wanted to be and who to aim it at.
'The Son of Bigfoot' is perfect for younger children, who are very likely to love it, while older children should also find a lot to like. Adults or the most demanding are likely to find faults and find it easier to criticise, but 'The Son of Bigfoot' does make a real effort to include something for everybody of all ages and to me it succeeded in that. It is easy to criticise it, it is formulaic, it is derivative, some of the pace is a bit too hectic and the villain is rather one-dimensional and neither threatening or interesting (almost silly and actually not really needed).
The very sensitive may object to the use of certain words not usually found in a family film and perhaps also to the Japanese businessmen joke, wasn't myself by it all that much.
However, while not up to the same level as the best films of the major animation studios, 'The Son of Bigfoot' has a lot going for it. The animation is great, it's colourful, beautiful and rich in background and character detail and character designs that move naturally and don't look creepy. The music fits nicely and has an infectious and bubbly vibe.
Writing is also not bad at all, there is some nice wry humour and amusing jokes, without resorting to toilet humour, and just as many sweet, without being over-sentimental, and charming moments. Really liked the themes that the story touches upon, the father and son relationship is beautifully handled and has a lot of heart and it is not hard at all to root for an outsider, especially if you yourself were treated like one.
Of the characters only the villain underwhelms, the others are very engaging while the voice acting achieves a good balance of fun and sweet without going over-the-top in either extreme.
In short, very likable and worth the time as long as one knows what to expect. 7/10 Bethany Cox

My son wanted to watch this movie, so we went to watch it. And with it now seen, I must admit that I was actually surprised with the outcome of this movie, because it turned out to be better than I had anticipated.
While "The Son of Bigfoot" hardly is an innovative animated movie, it still offers fun and entertainment from start till end.
The storyline was fun, albeit a bit generic and predictable.
The characters in "The Son of Bigfoot" were funny and nicely detailed, and there were a bunch of hilarious situations throughout the course of the story. This, naturally, added to the overall enjoyment of the movie.
The voice acting in the movie was quite good and really helped the movie along nicely. And with this being an animated movie, the voice acting is crucial.

Okay movie if you don't have anything else to watch. Had its cute moments. But the majority of the movie was very bland. Id pass this up if you're not watching it for your kids.

This European production does not have the huge budget of the leading American studios, and the story is coherent but not sophisticated. However, the animation looks good, the character design works well and the film has heart and is fun to watch. Also, I enjoyed the theme of father-son bonding, which is something we don't get a lot of lately.
The Son of Bigfoot is likable movie, the kids going to enjoy this movie. Its a fun ride and the characters are well written.
This movie can be watched by all age groups, the animation is good.
I would recommend to anyone who loves animation movies....

Oh, how completely and utterly delightful! I loved the animation, the characters and the story. It was funny, adventurous and even action-packed. Animated films also usually have that deeper meaning to them, and in this instance it is family values. This was fantastic.

This movie was very good, the story was good. A good experience for the whole family. The characters were really funny and had good chemistry. There were a lot of nice moments both between the characters and also with the stunning nature. There are some clichés in this movie. You will get a good laugh of this movie anyway.
When asked where the kid is going he replied route ... when cleary marked on the wood the address is .... No one caught that he said the wrong number?! The kids liked the movie too!

This family film is a fun and funny story of a young teen that finds out his father is Bigfoot. Thinking his father was dead, he finds out that is is very much alive and has out to the woods to find him, not knowing he is Bigfoot. He finds out that the strange things happening to him is because he too has Bigfoot traits.
Of course, it is a typical fun kids film with talking animals: two raccoons, a woodpecker,a squirrel, and a bear.
The villain is a big wig rich corporate bad guy. He wants the secret to genetic hair growth to become even richer... a bigfoot.
It's a cute and fun movie. The ani.ation is colorful and well done.

I hadn't heard of this film before seeing it but was really impressed with many of its elements. The animation is stylised in a way that gives amazing personality to each character. My particular favourites being the protagonist, some school bullies and one of the FBI security guards.
I laughed out loud on a few occasions and the plot/script are strong enough to have kept me locked on for the duration and it feels like it has a good heart. Was surprised at the language in a couple of places but nonetheless a great film for adults and kids to watch together.

Awkward high school student Adam Harrison is often bullied. He has unusual growth spurts especially in his hair. He discovers a stash of letters from his father whom he had assumed to be dead. He tracks down his father who looks like Bigfoot. It turns out that the father has been hiding from hair-obsessed Wallace Eastman who owns HairCo. In addition to hair growth, Adam discovers that he gained animal speech and fast running as other Bigfoot skills.
I'm not that excited about this animated movie. The hair obsessed story is a bit silly. I would have prefer that Adam stayed at school and having to deal with the repercussion of his new self with all the other kids. He could be Teen Wolf, the movie. Instead, this all feels a little silly and that's fine for kids.

So I could watch this free on Iview and let me just say, 10 minutes in and I'm so glad I didn't go see it in cinemas.
There is no pacing. Literally none. Everything is so rushed and nothing feels organic or natural. I can't stress this fact enough. This kid's feet grow big and he freaks out and says "what's happening to me?" The most common response to that would be a little spooked and say "that's really weird". Not have a full-blown panic attack.
But then again, maybe it's in this kid's character to freak out about the littlest things. Problem is, we don't KNOW his character, or his personality, or anything about him apart from the basic "he's the son of Bigfoot" and "he's a pushover". There is no introduction to his character at all.
This kid takes his lunch and heads off to school, and then we're immediately thrown into a very obvious villain set up about ... a massive wig company? It's very nonsensical and if I was like 6 years old I probably would have loved this movie.
I honestly can not understand how this movie got such a high rating.

If you want a movie that illustrates the downsides to anarchism then watch this. The problem is it's not set in an anarchist society so the entire plot doesn't make any sense. (MINOR SPOILERS FOLLOW) In addition to a plot that doesn't make sense it has wildly unrealistic parts like adding a bunch of silly super powers to bigfoot. Like most kid movies it will leave you warm and fuzzy given the events at the end, but overall it's not a great movie.
Superb animation technology and they never forgot that what matters most in a movie is story, characters, imagination, and heart. This movie has it all. The adventure is both fun and fulfilling. Kids will simply love the movie and imitate the amazing characters. Entertaining for audiences of all ages.

Son of big foot is a trash and frogottable movie The art style and animations sucks like spirit untaned. When I watched it with Leo and mom I saw bullies and a Radom kid named Andam look do not care about anyone in this movie the plot is dumb boy is different and heals his dad then goes back to school the end. Do remember the cool Batman animated movie that showed Batman having a good start, now it is 10 minutes of andam being bullied at school. The movie is just lame with no awards no cool slow motion parts no good animation but 3 flipping bullies. Adam just goes to school just mocked by other kids who hate him and he hates mom for telling him that his dad is alive. So of big foot get in the sreeder!!

While relatively enjoyable, it was apparent that it was not American made. Almost all the characters are bad. The "rednecks" are stupid and just instantly start shooting. Without looking it up, I assumed it was European made.

Character design, image and animation are really good. It's funny and enjoyable. It reminds me of Incredibles and Shrek. To be better it would need to get rid of some tropes and include more serious themes.

This movie is so good. I love the story it has an interesting story concept. I love the story about the boy and his dad. I would really recommend for your kids to watch this as a family bonding time as the ending is very sweet and happy. Me and my boyfriend is 25 years old currently, yet we really loved and enjoyed this movie even though this movie is targeted at kids. And me and my partner thinks that this movie is way better than other cartoon movies like grinch and small foot.
