Netflix’s The Empress returned with an intense and emotionally charged Season 2, diving deeper into the lives of Emperor Franz Joseph I (Philip Froissant) and Empress Elisabeth “Sisi” (Devrim Lingnau) as they navigated personal losses, political turmoil, and the growing unrest in the Austrian empire. While Season 1 primarily chronicled Elisabeth’s entry into the Viennese court and her defiance of societal norms, Season 2 expanded the narrative to explore her struggles with motherhood, Franz’s internal battle between duty and personal desires, and the larger conflict of the Second Italian War of Independence. The season’s climactic ending left viewers with both answers and new questions about the fates of Austria, its rulers, and the Habsburg family. Franz’s Decision to Go to War: Noble Leadership or a Desperate Gamble?
The final episodes of Season 2 saw Franz grappling with his identity as emperor. After Austria’s devastating defeat at the Battle of Magenta,...

Fantasy is a hard nut to crack. Where science fiction can build on the rust and chrome of worlds we know, fantasy asks us to envision something new, often helped along by tidbits of real world history (as many fans of George R.R. Martin know quite well). To bring these worlds to life on screen requires more magic than words on a page, making the special effects budget blow the king's purse wide open.
When it works, it's something special. We get to see impossible worlds, meet cultures and countries where the riddle of steel and the law of chivalry thrive. We take to skies full of dragons, and sandy deserts full of bandits. Of this grand niche, the sword and sorcery movie is the most approachable, with a down to earth ruffian flair. The distinction between this and high fantasy is slim, but for our purposes, if the world...

Following their highly successful “Summer of ’99” reunion tour, Creed kicked off their fall “Are You Ready?” tour on Saturday night (November 2nd) in Oklahoma City. The evening featured support from 3 Doors Down and Mammoth Wvh, both of whom will be on board for most of the outing.
Singer Scott Stapp and company opened their 15-song set at the Paycom Center with “Bullets” off 2001’s Weathered, but then surprised fans with a performance of that album’s “Freedom Fighter” for the first time since 2002.

Favorites like “Torn,” “Are You Ready?,” and “My Own Prison” also highlighted the early part of the set. As he did during the summer tour, guitarist Mark Tremonti gifted a fan with a guitar at the end of “What If.” This time around, it was a young girl named Justice who had been watching the show while perched on her dad’s shoulders.

Are you as into “The Masked Singer” as we are? As much as we love watching the over-the-top performances on “The Masked Singer,” we get even more enjoyment from figuring out the names of the celebrities competing. That is especially true if we can crack the code as to who is hiding inside a costume before the four judges.
Season 12 of “The Masked Singer” is proving to be the most competitive yet. The producers packed the line-up with 17 stars. One of the two women who contended in Week 4 was disguised as Bluebell and she wowed the crowd with her cover of the Pat Benatar tune “We Belong.”
We’ve been reviewing the clues and that performance on October 16 as well as the sneak peek of her cover of the Dua Lipa hit “Dance The Night” on October 23 and have all your “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the answer to the question,...

Demi Moore moved around a lot in her childhood, and her life wasn't wholly rosy. As she's described it, Moore frequently relocated around the U.S., struggling with her mother and her stepfathers, and often finding herself malnourished. When she was 16, Moore dropped out of high school and took a job as a receptionist at 20th Century Fox. She signed a modest modeling contract and was making ends meet. Her next door neighbor was, it turned out, Nastassja Kinski, and the German actor encouraged Moore to take acting classes. She continued to model while working her way into films, making her debut in the 1981 movie "Choices." The following year, Moore appeared in the 3-D monster movie "Parasite."
These were the first two steps in a career that experienced a massive upward trajectory. By 1984, Moore was already playing lead characters in major studio productions.

By now, boxing movies are such an overplayed genre, it’s tough for any filmmaker to innovate how the sport appears on screen. Sean Ellis’ “The Cut” finds a way around that problem by focusing on physical and psychological struggles outside the ring, especially the grueling battle to make weight. The film tries several things at once, including a flashback structure than doesn’t fully connect, but its impact ultimately comes down to Orlando Bloom’s visceral, transformative performance as an unnamed Irish brawler.
Bloom’s protagonist — referred to as “the Boxer” in press notes, and frustratingly, nothing at all in the movie — can be seen engaged in a professional boxing bout exactly once in “The Cut.” During the film’s brief prologue, the accomplished prizefighter seems well on his way to another victory, when something mysterious and unseen distracts him from off-screen — something in the ether that only he...

Throughout the years, the group experienced several member lineup shake-ups, before ultimately landing on their most well-known iteration, dubbed “DC3.” Together, the trio would release fun, empowering smashes like “Survivor,” “Bootylicious” and “Independent Woman Pt. 1.”
Since their last studio album in the mid ‘00s, Destiny Fulfilled, all of the members have gone on to embark on solo ventures expanding beyond music into acting, writing, presenting, and appearing as judges on popular reality TV shows.
