Not too bad for a low budget film, I get the whole wobbly camera thing. Effects were not too bad for the budget. Biggest thing was the acting. Way to forced and not natural at all which unfortunately makes the whole movie below par. With what I understand they used real X soldiers for some of the roles. Been in the army and if they were real soldiers, I'll go it. Better acting could have made this low budget a hell of a lot better. Love seeing Aussies giving it a crack, but this is not winning any awards soon, certainly not for acting anyway.
Bad film, even by indie standard- The last hope is an exercise in how to not make an indie film. The camera is rarely still, the acting is choppy and the editing is inspiringly bad. Special effects are so- so considering the budget. (Must miss)
I was really excited for this movie but was very disappointed when I finally watched it.
The shaky camera made me really dizzy and people's heads were cut off. I had to shut my eyes quite a bit during this movie, especially at the start as the camera was moving way too fast and was all over the place.
I was confused with the story line as it didn't make a lot of sense. There wasn't really any character development and just jumped from one person to the next, without knowing who they were. The lead guy of the group they met, acting was way over the top and forced and it showed he wasn't a very good actor.
I think in future they need to take a step back from their movie and have someone else take a look at it and give them professional advice. Sometimes when you're too close to something you don't see the faults.
I admire their passion for the filming and this moving but I'm hoping this honest feedback helps them for their future movies.

1st of all I commend Leigh for having a go directing and staring in any film this is a huge achievement in ones self. Considering this is his first big film its a credit to him for trying. I agree and disagree with some of the other reviews. First of all to say that this film is unwatchable and i turned it off after 5mins is complete and other horse crap, I sat through the entire film with ease. I see where they were going with the whole handheld shakey feel and approach but this needs to be done in such away that doesn't distract and turn away viewers one thing I learnt when making my film "The Count" which does have a similar handheld style feel. I wish that I would of shown my actors how to use the camera properly before we started. Lesson learnt, ..and you do learn such things while making films something in which I don't think a lot of these reviewers fully understand on the mechanics behind making a film they are a bit to quick to judge I think. Acting was off and some/almost most of it felt forced, there were some good bits but a lot of cringe worthy robotic feels going on. Sound design def needed to be re-worked some of the audio that I heard while watching was off and not smooth this is so dam important to get right, if you nail the sound and music the footage follows, I felt at times I couldn't be immersed because the sound through me out of whack. Some of the effects where pretty cool. Makeup wasn't to bad but not over-ally great. Overall I gave this film a (4/10) for trying. Well done to everyone involved and keep trying ;)
For a zombie movie, the storyline is pretty good. Some of the acting is decent as well, some is pretty bad. Had this been made with a much better flow with smoother transitions, less verbose speeches, camera angles that make more sense instead of looking like a home movie, it might get up to a 6 or 7 rating. At one point, there was a long speech by a main character with the left hand side of the screen obscured by some guy's head. The actor reciting the speech didn't do a bad job of it, but the dialog was overdone and a long speech at that time was uncalled for. There were a few really good ideas in the movie that gone to waste since the film could have been refined into something much better.
