The concept of Zombies is not new for Hollywood where there are enormous number of movies based on Zombies in fact we can find thriller, horror, Sci-fi and even comedy based on the same concept. Strictly in an Indian context I suppose we don't even have the direct translation of the word Zombie in Hindi or Tamil. So I wouldn't say this is first of its kind movie in India because few years back we had a movie named Go Goa gone starring Saif Ali khan based on zombies' attack. With that note I don't have to say further Miruthan is undoubtedly a zombie flick. So kudos to the director Shakthi Soudar rajan for experimenting this genre which is entirely new for Tamil audience. Long story short the hero tries to save a group of doctors who will find the antidote for a virus spread among the town which makes people go violent and crazy blood thirsty animals. Jayam Ravi who had a wonderful 2015 with four releases out of which three hits opens his account for this year with this different movie. He is the protagonist who plays a Traffic sergeant has done a pretty decent justice to the role. Lakshmi Menon as the Doctor and love interest of the hero. Her characterisation suffers credibility and reality. We see her dumb at times and unrealistic as well. Supported by ensemble TV artists. Technically the movie has got above average graphics and cinematography. But the BGM lets down on a bigger note turning the serious scenes to a comic note. Overall the movie lacks clarity on whether the director had tried it as a horror- comedy or stand-alone comedy or horror thriller flick. We come out confused. It can be a definite once watch for the new concept and experimentation on a Zombie genre. Despite the logic flaws for making it an entertainer my rating would be 6.5/10. -Sivakumar Balachandran

From the very first review on net was so negative and they started comparing it with Hollywood movies and there stands the movie it was never less to any billion dollar movies out there from Hollywood ,

and poor critics losing there's people following by giving false reviews even in national media like The Hindu gave false review for such great movie , I cannot describe any more about the movie these are movies which come once in the blue moon ,get the full cinematic experience Great Movie , Superb Visual ,Setting New standard for Indian Cinema, Jeyam Ravi is rising new heights, with his acting great makeup for zombies not to horrifying which make you see the movie without any irritation Photography, Stunts and VFX get Synced best Pulse Rising BGM By Imman but BGM gets repeat in Loop which make Exhausted which Overlaped by best Scenes

It is Not Good as Hollywood Zombie Thrillers. But You can Watch it For it's Experiment.

I watched it in Kannada Dubbed Version, Dubbing is Good. Short Duration So It is Crisp. Story is Not so Good.

Zombie Reddy is So Much Better Than This.

Gave 6/10 For Experimenting Zombie Thriller Genre in South India.

First Tamil zombie movie.Good one.Nice try.It took the kollywood to one step ahead.

#Pros:

*Perfect story

*Equal importance to all cast

*Little comedy , little romance.

*Good Screenplay *Nice background music

#Cons:

*Virus spread starts in Ooty & the city is contained in a night, but when the van reaches Coimbatore the city looks like a war zone , which is impossible

*No explanation for antibiotic in child's blood -(It is said as naturally,& is unbelievable)

*Even the bitten doctor wears light color shirt it is shown that his fellow people couldn't find out the injury

*Traffic police is doing his job But where are the other police forces?

After reading some positive reviews I started to watch Miruthan. The movie was going really well in the 1st half, it was entertaining. And then the 2nd half came, and the movie started to deteriorate. The climax totally killed the film.

The movie is full of loopholes. A weak point of zombies has been shown here but the characters didn't use it a single time except in the climax. Comedic dialogues worked very well but the romantic portion was so bad and useless. But, overall it was a good attempt Finally, the movie is watchable but I'll not recommend it to anyone.
