The film was entirely shot on Iphones 5S, Iphone 4s and an old Nokia.

The film production was budgeted at USD$14000, most of it from crowdfunding online.

Some of the scenes were shot by the actors themselves, as Marcelo Tobar wanted to recreate the kinds of images that people shoot with their own phones. A few shots were operated by a 5-year old Nicole de Albornoz (playing Flor's daughter). The sense of realness and intimacy stemming from this was exactly what the director intended.

The character Trujillo spends sometime trying to watch or learn the result of a soccer match. That match was between Mexico and Honduras National Soccer Teams in the qualifiers for the Russia 2018 World Cup. It was played on September 6 of 2016 and ended with a 0-0 that allowed both teams to advance to the next round. Mexico would eventually advance to the World Cup, while Honduras would eliminate the United States from the World Cup, but also failing to qualify themselves.

The director's mother, niece and nephew play roles in the film (Flor's mother and children).
