The movie focuses on a seemingly bright young medical student with exciting future prospects who also drinks heavily and mess around with his friends. He finds out that relationships with friends, women and patients are complicated and overall feels already left out of everything. He has to choose what not to mess up - if there is anything left what is not already messed up. The jungle scenes adds up an atmospheric melancholy.

The most recognizable star in the movie is Elliott Crosset Hove (as Knud) who is now a promising actor.

The movie confusing and nothing interesting on plot stories

Since there is only two reviews here, with one stating the movie was confusing and with no interesting plot, i thought i write my first review to get more people to watch it. I found "I Blodet" a relatable movie about friendships between college-guys in their mid-twenties, with the usual challenges of romantic commitment and career which you find in similar movies such as the norwegian movies "Reprise" and "The worlds worst person". The story is nicely and minimalistically portrayed with the solid acting you tend to find in danish movies. I really enjoyed the setting of the story: A young medicine student living in Copenhagen with his friends, trying to get his recently dumped best friend to join him for a trip to Colombia. The director shows Copenhagen from its best side, and also takes the main character on a trip to a hut in the swedish forest and a music festival. The soundtrack of the movie is solid, and so is the camera work. I think the main reason why i liked this movie, was that it nailed a lot of experiences and relationships that i have had being a twenty something, middle class guy in scandinavia. The things the characters discuss and struggle with is common and might come off as trivial to some, and so does the plot, but i think the creators of the movie handled them in such a way that it built sympathy and interesting drama and did not come of as trivial to me at all. I think the key behind this might be the scenes from the main characters work in the hospital, which creates a necessary and interesting "real life" contrast to the young, well off main character partying, meeting girls and complaining about his relatively care free life. Watch it if you need a mellow summer drama to reflect on. It wil make you want to visit Copenhagen.
