As the 70th edition of the Cannes Film Festival comes to a close, the tide appears to be turning for women. With Sofia Coppola, Naomi Kawase, and Lynne Ramsay in this year’s competition, the lineup included more work from female filmmakers than almost any other year of the aughts, although that still worked out to just 15.8% of the 19-film competition slate. But beyond the numbers, things are changing.

Yesterday, TheWrap broke the news that Aquaman's first movie would have him facing off against none other than Black Manta. The scoop, at this point, remains unconfirmed (WB had declined to comment to the outlet), but given Aquaman's history with the villain, he would be a good pick for this inaugural standalone film for the King of Atlantis. Given that Black Manta is the man responsible for killing Aquaman's son, it would be a great way to give Aquaman a strong arc right up front (not unlike the arc Black Panther had in Captain America: Civil War against Baron Zemo).

So how true is this rumor? As mentioned above, Warner Bros. has yet to comment, and in a recent interview with Slash Film, Aquaman director James Wan wasn't so helpful in the matter.

In 2002, Vin Diesel marked his neck with three Xs and donned a tight, white muscle shirt to become thrill-seeker Xander Cage in xXx, a movie that is impossible to Google with proper results. Without losing street cred, this is an action film I actually recently returned to with surprising satisfaction. It is ridiculous, bloated, and excessive, but is self-aware and sprints with it.

Now, with another sequel in between, he’s back for xXx: Return of Xander Cage, which looks to gleefully carry the torch of its forefather while embracing the contemporary action spectacle sensibilities. Will it reach the insanely successful heights of the Fast franchise or secure itself as an action masterpiece? No comment. Will it be an enjoyable and exhilarating time at the movies? Potentially. If xXx has retained its attitude — and with some motorcycle surfing, it looks like it has — that’s perhaps all we can ask for.

Amy Schumer is "totally in love" with boyfriend Ben Hanisch.

The 34-year-old comedian started dating furniture designer Ben last year, before confirming their romance in January (16). Amy spoke about her relationship during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday (April 12), admitting things couldn't be going any better.

"We met and totally fell in love and it’s been really good," Amy smiled.

The romance then "became viral Internet news", and the Inside Amy Schumer star thinks she knows the reason for the interested in the pairing.
