Yep, this sequel has it all, except characters that are enjoyable to watch. Where the original had believable characters, these are cartoons of characters. This was a disappointing sequel.

Such a great movie for a good old fashioned creep scare! My heart was definitely racing for some of those scenes. The natural acting of the cast made the point of view camera concept more believable. I am one to appreciate movies made to tell a story without having to spend a lot of money on too much theatrics and gore. Well done DTB! I will definitely watch it again!
I've seen a lot of bad horror movies. This is awful to a whole new level. Not even so bad it's good. A painful, agonising watch, this is by far one of my least favourite movies. Why would anyone watch this Z-Grade horror film that borrows from The Exorcist, The Shining, Paranormal Activity, and any supernatural horror that's come out in the last century. Nauseating camerawork, thin scares, and awful characters, The Devil's Toybox is horror done wrong. Really wrong.
I know I'm one of the few fans of the original film, but I thought it was a lot of fun and I have no problem watching it over and over. I only recently discovered that it had a sequel and was thrilled....until I watched it. The fact that only three of the original cast members made appearances with two in very minimal scenes was an issue for me. The new cast were so dreadfully annoying that I couldn't wait for them to be picked off. The script was so far removed from the original concept of a haunted asylum that it really made little sense. The camera work was so grainy I couldn't see what was happening through much of the movie. The main complaint I have is that this film lacked all the charm of the original. I wish Kellog would have written a sequel that captured the spooky fun of the first. Hopefully, he doesn't gamble on a third.
If you're looking for a decent horror film with good jump scares or a great story line, then avoid this if you can.
This film features everything a bad horror film entails- bad acting, a terrible story line and less than mediocre jump scares. Sure, there's one instance where a jump scare got me but other than that this is one of the most bland horror films I've ever seen, and it features and overused concept that is dying out.
Let also not get past the fact that this film looks like it was made on a student budget, with the crew also serving as the actors (which explains the bad acting). Allan Kellogg should really rethink how he made this film, and given it was funded by Indiegogo I'm not surprised this didn't work out so well. Someone should scold his cinematographer for terrible camera angles.
To summarise this whole review, I would suggest avoiding this film if you see it on Netflix or Sky. I'd give it a 1 but I enjoyed one jump scare, as it's pretty much the only good thing about the film (Besides Wesley, of course, he was the only decent actor/character in the film.)
