After earning over $30 million at the box office, A24 has finally announced a streaming date for its third-biggest movie of the year so far. The studio has confirmed that Warfare, the gripping Iraq War thriller starring Joseph Quinn (The Fantastic Four: First Steps) and Cosmo Jarvis (Shōgun), will begin streaming on HBO Max on September 12. While Carrie is best known for her work on HBO shows like The White Lotus, The Gilded Age, and The Leftovers, she actually got her start on stage and made her Broadway debut in 2012 in the play Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Carrie starred in that production opposite Tracy.

In addition to his work as an actor, Tracy is the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of August: Osage County, Superior Donuts, and The Minutes.

Carrie previously starred in the 2020 production of Tracy‘s play Bug back in 2020 at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago.

Letts’ play heads to Broadway following its 2021 run at Chicago’s Steppenwolf Theatre. The production begins performances on Wednesday, December 17 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre with opening night set for Thursday, January 8, 2026.

Bug, directed by David Cromer (Prayer for the French Republic), revolves around an unexpected and intense romance between a lonely waitress, played by Coon, and a mysterious drifter, played by Namir Smallwood. What begins as a simple connection between two broken people in a seedy Oklahoma motel room twists into something far more dangerous. When reality slips out of grasp, paranoia, delusion, and conspiracy take over in this sexy psychological thriller, per the synopsis.

Carrie Coon will star in the Broadway premiere of Bug this winter, written by her husband Tracy Letts.

The play, which will be directed by David Cromer (The Band’s Visit), follows a surprise and intense romance between a lonely waitress, played by Coon and a mysterious drifter, played by Namir Smallwood. The production begins performances on Dec. 17 at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre, with an opening night set for Jan. 8.

The play transfers to Broadway from a Steppenwolf production that began in 2020 and resumed in late 2021, after being delayed by the pandemic. The show was staged in London 30 years ago, and has had several iterations since, including an Off-Broadway production in 2004 and a film adaptation in 2007, with Michael Shannon starring in both.

In addition to Coon and Smallwood, the cast will include Randall Arney, Jennifer Engstrom and Steve Key, who also starred in the Steppenwolf production.

Audra McDonald is speaking out about boundaries between fans and performers after someone followed her all the way home after a recent Broadway performance.

The Tony-winning actress, who is the most awarded actor in Broadway history, just wrapped her run in the Broadway revival of Gypsy. While many Broadway actors will greet fans at the stage door following a performance, Audra says she decided not to meet people after Gypsy to preserve her health and stamina amid the grueling job.

On Friday night (August 15), Audra says a fan “snuck around and found me the way I had exited from the theater and followed me all the way to where I was staying, came into the building, and was uncomfortably close.”

This is the fifth consecutive episode of The Gilded Age to set a new series high, with Season 3 pacing 30% ahead of Season 2 and certain to become the series’ most watched season to date.
