The 31-year-old actress was recently interviewed by Who What Wear and asked about who would be in her Scream Queens clique today, referencing a Ryan Murphy-produced show that she starred in.

Ryan Murphy has a new horror series in the works with an adaptation of The Shards, and the show has added new cast members, including an actor who regularly appears in Mike Flanagan projects and Richard Gere's son. The Shards is a 2023 horror novel written by Bret Easton Ellis.

Per Variety, The Shards have added three new members to the cast. Igby Rigney will play a young Bret Easton Ellis, the author of the novel. Homer Gere will portray Robert, and Graham Campbell has been cast as Thom. It was previously announced that Kaia Gerber had been cast in the series.

Disney has released new footage of Glen Powell's upcoming sports comedy series Chad Powers, and it already looks like the streamer's response to Apple TV+'s Ted Lasso. Though Glen Powell is mostly known for his movies, like Anyone But You and Top Gun: Maverick, the rising star also has a promising TV career. Now, we have a new look at his biggest show since 2015's Scream Queens.

Disney's new sizzle reel of upcoming shows includes a short montage of moments from Chad Powers. The teaser includes moments of Glen Powell's eponymous character taking the field of a football game, telling someone that he's "not done with football," and hearing from his coach (Steve Zahn) that he was "born for this moment." Evidently, Chad Powers will be something of a dramedy instead of a full comedy.

The performers have been cast to lead director Robert Rippberger’s drama-comedy feature A Good Fight, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively. The indie film has a script from Pierce Gardner (Dan in Real Life), and producers include Justin Shaner and Fernando H. Rojas for Sobe Brooke Studios.

A Good Fight centers on a thriving small-town businessman whose interview with a college journalist ends up impacting both of their lives. The movie’s tone is compared to that of It’s a Wonderful Life as the lead character figures out how to navigate his best path.

Production is set to begin later this month. The project will shoot in part at Rippberger’s White Lightning Studios in North Carolina, with some scenes set to film at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina.

In the series, when bad behavior nukes hotshot Qb Russ Holliday’s college career, he disguises himself and walks onto a struggling Southern football team as the talented, affable Chad Powers.

The series stars Glen Powell as Russ Holliday/Chad Powers, Perry Mattfeld as Ricky, Quentin Plair as Coach Byrd, Wynn Everett as Tricia, Frankie A. Rodriguez as Danny, and Steve Zahn as Jake Hudson.

Based on the sketch produced by NFL Films and Omaha Productions that aired on ESPN+ as part of the Eli’s Places series, the comedy from 20th Television will stream on Hulu. Powell and Waldron co-wrote the pilot.

Powell and Michael Waldron are the co-creators and executive producers.

Nick Jonas, one of the famous siblings of the pop rock boy band The Jonas Brothers, has landed a role in the upcoming Kiss biopic. The artist is currently in negotiations to sign up for the musical project titled Shout It Out Loud, which is being directed by McG and written by Darren Lemke. The core members of the band and their onstage personas are Paul Stanley/Starchild (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Gene Simmons/Demon (bass and vocals), Ace Frehley/Spaceman (drums and vocals), and Peter Criss/Catman (lead guitar and vocals). Per Variety, it's been announced that Hulu has set Powell's new show, Chad Powers, with a release date of Sept. 30, 2025. In the series, Powell plays washed-up football quarterback Russ Holliday in what could be his most transformative role. The comedy is a half-hour show co-created by Powell and Michael Waldron. Alongside Powell, the series also stars Perry Mattfeld, Quentin Plair, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Steve Zahn.

A Viral Sketch Inspired the Series

The show is inspired by a viral comedy sketch that was uploaded in 2022 featuring real-life Super Bowl winner Eli Manning, who made the video with he and his brother's Omaha Productions for ESPN+.

Despite acting in titles like Everybody Wants Some and Scream Queens for years, Glen Powell has experienced a surge in wider popularity of late thanks to roles in movies like Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone but You, Hit Man, and Twisters. Powell is already quite busy, with roles in Edgar Wright's remake of The Running Man, the Hulu series Chad Powers, and the thriller Huntington, but it doesn't look like he plans on slowing down anytime soon.

Variety reports that Universal Pictures is fast-tracking an original comedy about a country-western star in free fall from Judd Apatow and Glenn Powell, with both serving as co-writers of the script. Apatow is also set to direct the film, while Powell will star in the movie.

As you start to look through the list of Ryan Murphy shows, you’ll find that there are way more than you initially thought. He’s the man behind Glee, Scream Queens, American Horror Story, and so much more. There’s simply no way that you can watch everything in a short space of time, and there are some shows just not as good as others.

How do you know if something is worth watching or skipping, though? After all, something can seem great from the premise, but then you get into two episodes and realize that it’s just not what was promised. The good news is I’ve watched the majority of his shows now, and I can tell you the ones that just don’t quite hit the mark. I have the four that you definitely want to watch, and the three that are just worth skipping.

Prior to Jamie Lee Curtis coming on stage to present an award, the Netflix-streamed live event aired a video package paying tribute to horror’s Scream Queens, featuring clips from a handful of horror movies alongside insights from Curtis, Neve Campbell, and Jenna Ortega.

The video package put the spotlight on classics including Scream, Halloween, Psycho, and A Nightmare on Elm Street, but it also featured clips from deeper cuts including Night of the Demons, Leprechaun, and even Chopping Mall. The American Society of Cinematographers Awards were handed out Sunday night, with the film prize going to Edward Lachman for Maria.

This is Lachman’s first ASC win. He was previously nominated for Far From Heaven (2003), Mildred Pierce (2011), Carol (2016) and El Conde (2024). He received the ASC’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017.

On the TV side, Richard Rutkowski won for Sugar in the episode of a half-hour series category, and Sam Mccurdy won for Shogun in the one-hour regular series category, while the limited or anthology series of motion picture made for television award went to Robert Elswit for Ripley.

Scream 7 star Mason Gooding finally opened up about the highly-anticipated next installment to the iconic slasher franchise. Gooding has been portraying the role of Chad Meeks-Martin since 2022’s Scream, where he was introduced as Randy Meeks’ nephew.

Speaking with Variety, Gooding revealed that Scream 7 will feature the “most brutal” Ghostface of the franchise, teasing fans to anticipate the horror sequel’s next-level gruesome kill sequences.
