She is of half-Thai and half-Norwegian descent.

She is fluent in Thai, English, Spanish, French and Norwegian.

She was initially suppose to be named Christine but her grandmother disapproved of it.

Her name nickname is Yaya because her father couldn't pronounce Urassaya (which means daughter in Thai) so the name Yaya was formed.

She used to be an exchange student in Australia for one month in 2004.
