[11 February 2010] An item in the "Ripley's Believe It or Not" newspaper feature has her picture and the accompanying statement: "'Aachi' Manorama, a veteran of India's Tamil film industry, has appeared in more than 1,500 movies and 1,000 stage performances!".

The first song that Manorama sang in cinema was in a film called Magale Un Samathu.

She has acted predominantly in Tamil films since 1958 but also acted in Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada movies as well.
