She is also very fond of hot and spicy foods, even resorting to put two bottles of Tabasco on a spaghetti when she was on high school. Her favorite ramen is the Hokkyoku ramen from Mokotanmen Nakamoto (a ramen place known for their spicy ramen).

While in high school, Hondo acted in school plays and also participated in activities such as swimming, basketball, soft tennis, and softball. While in her third year of school, one of her instructors was a radio personality, and her experiences with them and the club influenced her to decide to become a voice actor.

Her favorite voice actors include Junichi Suwabe and Yoko Hikasa. This was because they would like to guide a rookie like her when they played together in Demi-chan wa Kataritai.

The nickname "Ede-chan" was given from her senior in high school.

She had an interest in anime from a young age, in particular the Naruto series.
