Released her first Canto-pop debut album, Beautiful Life, on 31 July 2012, garnering her awards in the Best Newcomer category across various music platforms. Within a week from the launch of her album, Beautiful Life had climbed up to first place on HMV's 'Asian Album Top Sales Chart'.

Chen is Hong Kong Cancer Fund's Pink Ambassador for the Pink Revolution Campaign, which is held every October to promote breast cancer awareness and raise funds to support free services for patients and their families.

Chen was the first Chinese American actor to receive the MFA degree from the Juilliard School's drama division, when she graduated in May 2018.

Chen's first voice-over for an animation film was for the Cantonese version of Despicable Me 3 where she was the voice of Lucy Wilde.

Chen was nominated in the Best New Performer category at the 29th Hong Kong Film Awards, when she first tried her hands in the film industry with her leading role in Turning Point.
