- Dimiter's second son, Michael is named after Michael Shirley, a total stranger, who found Dimiter playing violin on the streets of Knoxville, TN. Michael and Peggy Shirley invited Dimiter to live at their home. They helped him make the very first steps in his new life in the US. Now, Shirley's are proud grandparents of their only grandson, Michael Marinov.
- He was a classical violinist. In 1979 he performed at the United Nations Circle Hall, New York under the conducting of Leonard Bernstein.
- Dimiter has two sons 7 years apart. His first son Yordan was named by choice of his wife Jennifer after Dimiter's mom.
- "Act of Valor" is Dimiter's very first audition for a motion picture (September 2009) and his debut on the big screen in the US.
- Borne in Sofia, Bulgaria. A Masters Degree graduate from the National Academy for Theater and Film.
- Dimiter is the first Bulgarian actor to step on the stage of Dolby Theater as a principal cast member of the film "Green Book" (2018), who won the Academy Award "Oscar" for "Best Picture" in 2019. The advertising campaign for the film by Universal Pictures and Dream Works used Dimiter's line: "Genius is not enough. It takes courage to change people's hearts!".
