She always does her own German, French, and English voice dubbing for the foreign releases of her films.

She is fluent in German, English, and French. Additionally, she studied Latin for eight years in school, and learned Russian for the film Les brigades du Tigre (2006).

While filming Frankie (2005), she would live in an actual mental hospital where the film was shot with members of the crew in order to shoot scenes.

In a relationship with Norman Reedus since 2016. They have a daughter together, Nova Tennessee (b. November 2018).

Was a professional model under her birth name, Diane Heidkrüger, from 1992 to 1997.

With Wolfgang Petersen, we were always the only two ready at time and the first on the set during the filming of Troja (2004). The German rigour without a doubt.

It was something strange for me, to kiss Orlando. I was so embarassed! It is not as fun as people think to shoot love scenes. You feel vulnerable, and there are about 100 people looking at you.
