Theodore Bevry Olson

His wife, author, lawyer and television commentator, Barbara Olson, lost her life while on board American Airlines Flight 77 which was 1 of the 4 hijacked planes that crashed into the Pentagon, the World Trade Center and a Pennsylvanian field on that fatal day of September 11, 2001. She was on the flight that crashed into the Pentagon building in Arlington, Virginia while on her way to Los Angeles to tape her next guest appearance on the series Politically Incorrect (1993) on ABC-TV.

Ted worked as the U.S. Solicitor General from 2001 to 2004 under President George W. Bush.

[on the last time he spoke to his wife Barbara] She called me from the airplane. Somehow she got through. I realized that if she was on the phone, she was alive. But when I spoke with her, she told me that her plane had been hijacked. We talked for a minute or two, and then the line went dead. A couple of minutes later, she was able to get through for a second time, and we spoke for another minute or so and the connection went dead the second time.
